Exact Replacement

Had no problem replacing the belt. It fit just right, and records play great. Back in business listing to my vinyl.

New speakers arrived today! These Wharfedae Diamond 12.2’s sounds great with my Marantz 2252B.

Bought a 2252B brand new back in 78. Was paired with a Technics SL-23 turntable and some Pioneer speakers I loved. Many hours of enjoyment from those (at the time) prized possessions.

So far so good on an SL-23

Seemed the right size. Turntable is holding speed well. Quality seems fine. I can only conclude this is a solid replacement option for an Sl-23, as advertised. So, five stars.

SONY PS-LX100 vs Technics SL1900?

I recently upgraded from a decent belt drive turntable (Technics sl-23) to a nice direct drive (Technics sl-1400, also came with a nicer cart) and was very sceptical if I would actually hear a difference. But even with my old cartridge on there, I can absolutely say it is worth the upgrade. Its built like a tank, it's easy to maintain, super nice to look at. The speed stability I get from it is a game changer, and the tonearm is good enough that I have a decent amount of options for cartridge upgrades down the line.

HiFi setup purchase paralysis help!

The Pro-Ject deals are just too close to where those models have recently been priced new (on clearance sales, but still new with full warranty). And the SL-23 is not one of Technics' winners.

I recently resurrected my old Technic SL-23 turntable with a reasonable Audio Technical cartridge and ran it though a cheap headphone amp to some HiFi man headphones to compare it against YouTube hires music with a ifi DAC. The quality of the recording on vinyl was startlingly better. That led me on a monthlong journey back to vinyl and after watching quite a few YouTubes where the video compares multiple pressings of the “same” recording they seem to be experiencing the same sort of thing I did in my initial streaming vs vinyl comparison.
