Forget the USB output

One of the reason's I purchased this model was due to the integrated A/D conversion, as I like to convert my LP collection to 48KHz sampled audio to use on my digital media player. I tried recording the USB output into my Digital Audio Workstation using Audacity SW. All I got was seriously distorted...

I used the RT81's cousin (Teac TN-300 - both are made by same company) for several years. I had the itch to upgrade, and bought a AT LP-120 (the older non-x) model. I used it once and went back to the Teac, because the AT had too many quality issues (bad anti-skate, platter wobble, motor noise, crunchy-feel to cue lever, poor build-in pre-amp cannot be fully disabled without modification) that made it a downgrade. Yes, AT has addressed a few of those in the newer X-revision, but the quality still varies.

Thought my set up might belong here.

To start I've got a Teac TN 300 turntable connected to a Blutube by Rockville tube amp. The speakers were a gift from my dad who bought them over 25 years ago, and handed them down to me when I moved out. Old, but very loud and high quality.
