SO STRAIGHT! TAYLORMADE STEALTH IRON REVIEW

 This is the new stealth iron from TaylorMade and while it looks amazing

 There's one feature of this club that I absolutely love. I'm going to get into it in this video

 Right so the new stealth iron replaces the TaylorMade sim 2 iron which had this cat-back design you can see here

 They had an enclosed cavity so it looked a bit like a hollow-headed club almost like a blade you could say

 But TaylorMade have kind of pushed that one step further with this stealth iron

 You can see it follows a similar design trend

 But what you'll notice is immediately obvious is that TaylorMade have kind of taken away the toe section here within this club

 And that's to move mass from high in the head move it lower down lower the CG get it launching higher

 And also giving you a bit more speed as well, but inside here

 You can't see it is a longer echo dampening system

 So basically a polymer strip that's in contact with the face. It's giving you a better feel as well

 These are all things that TaylorMade are claiming and they've kind of readjusted the way they've approached game improvement irons in 2022

 So this is the only game improvement option within the range you go from P790

 Then if you want a bit more distance of forgiveness you go into the stealth

 Whereas last year with sim 2 you had two options the sim 2 and the sim 2 max OS so

 Be interesting to see exactly how this one performs how this iron compares to this one

 We're going to hit some shots here on a hole at Burley Park Golf

 I've also got some launch monitor data as well. So without further ado

 Let's hit some shots see how they look how they feel and how they perform

 So we've touched on the looks of the stealth and I've got to say it looks absolutely fantastic

 It looks like a game-improving iron from the future like a super premium expensive club

 It's not that expensive will come into the price later in this video

 So definitely ticks the box in terms of the looks and down behind the ball compared to the outgoing

 Sim max iron. It does look slightly more compact and refined. It's got all the hallmarks of a game-improving iron

 It's got offset. It's got a thick top line

 But it's not as excessive as it was with this sim 2 max and especially the sim 2 max

 OS which was fairly chunky you have to admit so kind of it does look a little bit better down behind the ball

 So before I hit some shots with this new stealth

 I'm just going to flash up some launch monitor data we got on the Forsyth Sports GC quad

 testing indoors at the brilliant Goethe and Golf Club Academy and

 using the Titleist Primo where it's golf balls and you see

 Comparing this iron to sim 2 there are some changes in performance this 7 iron loft here on the stealth iron is 28 degrees

 So it's half the degree stronger than the sim 2 max iron

 So fairly similar and you'll notice from the numbers this iron was faster

 But it was also 900 on average rpm lower spinning

 That's a big change in the spin and it would be a slight concern

 If it wasn't for the fact that this I was actually launching a degree higher

 So it's lower spinning, but it's getting the ball up in the air a little bit more easily and as a result

 Those kind of numbers high launch low spin will always give you a little bit more carry distance

 I was hitting this club about five yards longer than the sim 2 max

 So there's been a big progression in how this iron performed. It's giving you more distance. It's giving you more speed and

 And it was giving you more forgiveness and I mentioned the one thing

 I really liked about this club and that one thing is how straight this club is

 So I'm going to flash up my dispersion numbers here from the testing you'll notice

 I hit kind of I think it was six or seven shots in a row didn't delete any shots and the furthest off line

 I was with this 7 iron was five yards, which when you're hitting it 170 yards 172 yards on average

 That's really significant. It's not something I've experienced before

 You know the consistency of it was amazing whether it was the forgiveness of the head whether it was the kind of performance of the shaft
