For a lac one of the best bang for buck options is the Tascam DR-10L. For around $170 you are getting a rock solid lav mic option with some fantastic audio quality. Just need to deal with sync in post which these days is incredibly easy with most editing programs.

For audio I recommend the Tascam dr-10l. It’s budget friendly, you don’t have to worry about wireless issues and the lavalier mic is pretty good. Later you could look into getting an earworn or headworn mic, I use one by Countryman. Getting the mic closer to the subjects mouth with help with reverb in the room and with noise as the subject moves through poses.

I have been using my Tascam DR-10L setup for wedding shooting for like… 3 or 4 years with no issues with them so far. But I did just upgrade to some Zoom F2 recorders. You could definitely use them with other microphones, but I don’t think they can provide as much power as some mics need. Lavalier mics only need like 5V or something, whereas a lot of higher end mics need 48V.
