Lastly, the wide angle lock switch seems somewhat unnecessary, as the zoom ring already functions as a lens lock if you push it forward, while the switch only works at 150mm. The marking also feels flipped to me, as when red is showing it's actually locked, whereas in most other safety applications it would mean it's live. It sits right in the middle price wise but most people say the image is comparable to the sigma sport while being lighter and better stabilized.

Highly recommend the 55-250STM, it's sharper than some L glass and is stabilized and cheap.

Personally if I was going to go longer than that, I would go straight to a Sigma or Tamron 150-600mm.
