I love Talisman. If you're okay with random chance dictating a good chunk of what can happen, it can be a blast. Wacky crap can happen and every game can play out considerably different, especially if you're playing with the expansions. It is an old game, though, and many of your turns (particularly...
What boardgames have been in your collection the longest (that you still enjoy)?
**Talisman 2nd Edition**, this one has been mostly eclipsed by 4th, but that **Timescape** expansion still brings me back sometimes. **Chainsaw Warrior**, so much RNG at times, but a great single player game and one of the best themes. I’ve broken this out every Christmas holiday season for about 30 years and play 3 or 4 games.
Choose your size carefully, ignore other previous answers
First, super high quality. Great mold and PVC housing and the mesh screen is unreal in engineering perfection. But here is the problem, choosing your size is super hard. Be warned then when you are reading reviews and Q&A that it may not related to the size you are considering. If you are looking at...
Talisman Board Game Retrospective
The Heartbringer was released in June 2015 and signaled the beginning of the end and the Cataclysm came in 2016 which replaced the entire board with a new one. At this time, Fantasy Flight Games and Games Workshop had a bit of a falling out and Games Workshop licenses were taken away from Fantasy Flight Games, including that of Talisman for a short while. During this period, Games Workshop released the game themselves and some of the expansions before Pegasus Spiel took over the license and in 2019 released the revised Fourth Edition and its expansions
If you're the type of person who easily gets mad when things don't go your way, avoid this game at all costs.
If you're the type of person who loves when the outcome of a game is unpredictable all the way to the end and you've got some friends to play with, buy this game at any cost.
Great for sieving glazes/underglazes
I already have the 60 and 80 mesh sieve but needed something with a bit larger mesh. This is perfect for my needs. I do a lot of small test batches of glaze and under glaze and this it perfect for that. The shape allows me to position it over a small bowl or cup. The larger sieves work great for lar...
What I can say about Talisman is, you know, across the board, I think it's a really lousy game, poorly developed, uh, lots of crap in it that just doesn't quite work the actual mechanism and the style of play. It neither tells me a good story, nor is it really that exciting to play. There's a lot of tedium in it
This # 10 Sieve failed with a “Bang”!
This inexpensive #10 Sieve worked fine for a few months until it failed catastrophically today. Used to sift “fines” out of a pound of whole tea once a month, it was adequate for the job. It was, however, very difficult to clean. Material found it’s way deep into the mesh on the perimeter. Always ha...
