But the reason why they're hard over then having say something that's a bit squishy or has a memory foam in them is because this builds up the natural fat in the base of your foot

So if you do actually have good arches and you want to keep having good arches especially if you wear like maybe some kind of trainers or like vans or something, that's fair, it's got very flat kind of insole to it. Superfeet Carbon Trim Insole | Product Review

I love zero drop shoes, but the new balance minimus shoes I have had since maybe last spring have no cushioning and I think I have some inflammation of the forefoot/metatarsal area that has carried over to other shoes from wearing these in the city and walking a lot in them.  I'd like to try running again.  Are there any shoes that are zero drop but have arch support, and a foot shaped forefoot so my pinky toes aren't squeezed in?

Wow... Mixed review

 Once you've trimmed them, and they make your shoes fit so much better. As a basic concept, all feet have shape and by adding some shape underneath your foot, inside your shoe, which you're usually flat, uh, generally makes for a nicer ride. Um, so whether you're running, skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, ski cross, whatever it is, then you're going to want something in there to just help with that transition from side to side inside your ski boot, walking shoe, etc. So that's the basic concept

 So that's the superfeed carbon. Then they've sent me two of their custom insoles and I'll start with the more generic one which is the custom carbon all season thin so a bit of a mouthful maybe. But there we are. Custom Carbon all season thin

 It's in a more consistent position inside there. So that means that edge to edge control is going to be a lot more accurate because every time you're moving to the left, to the right, the inside edge, the outside edge, your foot's not having to roll across the flat base inside the boot and then engage with the boot. It's all a lot more in tandem with itself. So if you don't use an insole in your ski boots, I personally think there's something wrong with you, but you should certainly consider it if you've tried it and you don't like it and you prefer without, hey, no problem, everybody should try it and if you don't, get on with it, that's absolutely down to you

 It's a polycarbonate that's a kind of proprietary technology to super feed themselves. So yeah, it has an element of carbon fiber built into that so that polycarbonate there hence why that is called carbon and that is wafer way for thin trim to fit insole and also nice ventilation in there as well. So you'll see they use this and sometimes cycling running, but also for ski touring where it gets really hot in there. But you want a good stable insole, something like that's great

Don't know if they could actually be made thinner. Still, they provide better support than the women's half insoles when I can fit these in, so that's a plus. Maybe worth having a pair around. 3

Nice...but

 Not all shoes will make this sound but it can be solved by covering the black part of the insole with gaff tape. Really Superfeet should consider placing a gaff tape like coating on the insole bottom to begin with to fix the squeak problem for good.

Good with modifications

Comfortable on feet, but damaged my shoes

The Carbon version is good but support feels less

I needed these to fix an issue with my Danner Acadia's where the gore-tex stitching was causing hot spots on the bottom of my feet. I didn't have much room in the boots for an insole but these fit the bill and also provide orthodic support. I am getting another pair for a second hand purchased pair of leather insole boots that don't feel right on my feet without some support.
