Even more important than having fun in the pool, we want our kids to be safe in the pool. I'm Tammy with Ttpm and today we have a product that offers both. The Puddle Jumper Deluxe 3d lifejacket from Stern is for kids between 30 and 50 pounds. It's kind of a combination between swim ease and a life vest as it has a front panel that fits comfortably over a child's chest and two arm pieces that fit over child's upper arms

 These features 3d animals on the front, which is what the 3d in the name of the product stands for. From personal experience, I can tell you that my three-year-old twins who weigh exactly thirty pounds each love these and I feel completely safe when they're wearing these in or near water. Great but NOT 3D

A cousin had one of these and seemed so much more comfortable in it than a traditional life jacket, that we thought we'd give it a try for our big trip to an indoor water park. It worked great and my son loved it, but it is a little bit snug in the arms and left red marks on his arms when we took it off. It says it fits up to 50 pounds, but it was on it's largest setting for my thin 44 pound 5-year-old, so it probably is best for younger, smaller kids.

The clips seem easy to adjust

 We have the alligator and the pink penguins, but I've seen may of the other designs in department stores. They're very appealing to kids, which is another plus when they're told they need to wear these!  My kids have since used these in pools and they LOVE them. My daughter has become so much more confident in the water after she could 'swim' on her own in her life jacket. She's figured out the arm and leg movements of swimming while having the safety of the flotation device

 We wore these both over a t-shirt while boating and on bare skin/swim suits, and the snug was fit both times. These are not the life jackets of 25 years ago that had huge arm holes allowing a kiddo's head to slip inside the vest. These are secured on the arms as well so that can't happen.  Secondly, these are comfortable! Neither of my kids would have been psyched to wear these if they weren't comfy

 They keep a kids head above water, allow the child some mobility and freedom, are easy to put on, and are adorable! A 4 way win all around!  I have 2 kids, ages 3 and 5. We were going to Michigan to visit my parents' farm and to do some fishing/boating. I knew the kids would need life jackets, so I decided to try this type after reading so many amazing reviews. I have to say

Best life jackets ever!

 Once we tested and watched how this worked we were very comfortable letting our daughter float around in the pool by herself (with us right there of course, I mean without anyone holding her directly). She loved her freedom in the water! After some coaxing and some much flopping about she quickly learned to navigate herself around the pool on her own. She even developed a swimming method pretty much on her own. All the while this item kept her head and face safely above the water

 However the jacket fit very on her and we had no fears of safety issues from her being underweight. The sides fit firmly yet comfortably over her arms and the back was easier adjusted to a perfect fit. Our daughter is very sensitive about wearing anything clothing that feels too tight or confining yet she had no problem wearing this item. That's a win!  From a functional standpoint these things are awesome
