 So you know this. This one is in k390, which i think is a fantastic steal. K390 is one of my top three folder steals right now, uh so is m390 and then also s90v. So those are my top three picks in no specific order

 Today, we're going to be reviewing the spyderco dragonfly 2. i'm going to go over the specs, then the design and build quality i'll weave in my thoughts and experiences along the way sum it up with a quick overview and tell you why you should or shouldn't buy The knife so starting off with the specs, so the dragonfly is obviously a small knife. The blade length is coming in just over two and a quarter. In fact, the specs say it's right at two and a quarter inches uh, the handle length is uh, 3

 It'S not a problem there and you can open it. Two hands people. You know just pick this knife up and intuitively know how to use it if they're not a knife person, and i think that if you're a spyderco fan, you should definitely have at least one of these knives so yeah. I would definitely recommend this knife so moving on to why you should or shouldn't buy the knife, you should buy it if you're looking for a sub two and a half inch blade that is really lightweight, you should buy the knife if you're looking for something that Is easy to hold on to with great ergonomics and you should buy the knife if you're looking for a good backup or a knife, that you can hand to others to use and why you shouldn't buy the knife, you shouldn't buy the knife, if you don't like Back clocks, you shouldn't buy the knife, if you don't like wire clips and you shouldn't buy the knife if you're on a budget

 This is your spider. Compare military to and the pair of three get them on camera. There that'd be good, as you can see it's quite a bit smaller than either of those and then we're just gon na. Do one other little flick one here

 Let'S pull it out where they said it yeah compared to a paramilitary two in height, because we want to put them this way. Yeah. It'S only a little bit less than a pimp too. So it is quite taut before for the size of knife that it is we'll pull out you old Wranglers and do some more with this foot

 It was about 2821 thousands behind the edge. I do believe, if I remember correctly, that might be just a little bit thicker behind the edge, then to be toku one I got was, but it still slices like a laser that really thin blade stock. They said super sharp out of the box, no complaints there, as I've said before I find Spyderco zbg, tend to be a little on the softer side as far as edge retention goes, but I will say - and I like this small - it doesn't matter - that's perfectly fine. It'S the G times pretty good as far as corrode and we're just and some stuff

 I don't mind it as much. It is not inexpensive, though 61 75 for a small little plastic handle knife like this. You can still call it a budget knife, but it's it's it's quite a bit for what it is and we'll talk about that more in the in the conclusion. But for a lot of reasons on the knife, this small spider, cozbie g10 - doesn't bother me as much as it does on some of the larger ones

The downside of this is that it requires a lot of time and effort to resharpen once it gets dull. As stated, I'm no expert on steel and I'm not a steel snob. This is my first ZDP knife

75" of usable grip length when the choil is included. Furthermore, most of that grip length is made up of Spyderco's FRN handle with its bi-directional pattern and ergonomic shape. Hard to describe but the thing just snugs up to the crease in your palm, sticks there and your fingers fall into the sweet spots without even thinking about it. Ergonomics

It's all about the choil

 You know five to 100 territory, we're seeing way way way more preferable, steels steels that will hold an edge longer and still have great stainless qualities and toughness properties right, um yeah. So the vg10 one, this zdp 189 version, i think, was about 94 bucks and i think that that was a much better deal, the ones that are coming out - that i would recommend, if you really want a dragonfly wait for the k390 variants um. It'S like all of the seki city, japan, stuff, will come in this if you're gon na, if it's gon na be k390, will come in this sort of teal or light blue whatever you want to call that frn or injectable plastic and then k390 k390 will hold An edge way way longer still plenty tough. It'S not going to be stainless, though, if you really need the stainless qualities

 Let'S move this guy down just a little bit, so you can see here, yeah, absolutely not a big boy: how about up against the spyderco pm2 and spyderco. Para 3 exact same situation here, not a big night and last but not least, the benchmade griptilian, or in this case the ritter hogue and the benchmade mini griptilian mini griptilian, actually looking hulking compared to the dragonfly. But that's something that a lot of people want. They do want a smaller knife, or maybe a fifth pocket knife

 I mean this is all knocked down. It'S not sharp honestly, the back lock here to for disengaging the back lock the handle shape is very good and the back lock itself is they've got this divot here, it's very comfortable a lot of times with back locks. You know they're in kind of a weird spot or they're sharp or it's flat up on the spine, and it's a little. You know this is okay

 It sounds so dumb. The muscle in my forearm has has been fatigued and i'm i've been i've. I am being shut down. You know physically by this spyderco dragonfly, but that's honestly, what i'm noticing here if your hands are different than mine, if your hands are smaller than mine, right or you're, just better with the dragonfly than me, then maybe your experience is different, but yeah

 The blade is tight, is perfectly centered, and has absolutely no side-to-side or top-to-bottom movement.  I'm giving it 4 stars, because I can't give it 4.5. If the handle were made of a nicer material, and the thumb hole didn't have sharp edges, I would rate it 5 stars

 It has gone through the wash a few times, and it is my most frequently misplaced knife due to it's small size and feather weight.  The short blade is very functional due to the 50/50 coil and aggressive jimping, but the small grip doesn't inspire too much confidence. The frame flexes a little, reminding you that it is a light duty knife. It is flickable, but you might have to tune the main pivot screw for optimal function

 My job is in an office, so I don't really need anything like a bush craft knife or even a full size folder. Just need something small for boxes and misc light duty cutting. This seemed to check off all the boxes of blade length and discrete form factor. And being Spyderco, the build quality is pretty top notch

The Japanese VG-10 steel has been pretty good and stays sharp.  Knife does what I need it to, but worth pointing out that this is incredibly small, even for someone with medium to small hands

Great EDC for light duty, but indeed tiny

  Spyerco's FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle material is lighter, more grippy thanks to the thoughtful "spyder web" design, and honestly just better than any of the G10, titanium, and carbon fiber handles I've used.  EDIT 5.16.18 - the "wire" clip came off while i was at work
