CKF or another MT doesn’t hurt. I also found that I needed inexpensive knives for travel (shaving kit). Sub $100, so I picked up a BM mini bugout and a Spyderco Delica.

This was really fun to assemble. It doesn't take much pressure to "unlock" the blade, but at least this plastic model didn't break like the wooden one did. I was disappointed it didn't have a pocket clip! And it would have been nice if the blade had a false edge so that it could be used as a letter ...

I fish saltwater mostly and I’ve had my Spyderco Delica for over 15yrs now. VG-10 Japanese stainless steel = always sharp. I think it was like $50 when I bought it.

This is a cool knife replica, my son loves it. It is similar to my delica 4, but is wider. Only real problem is the lock doesn't work the best and it fold up sometimes, but at least the real ones locks don't slip. Easy to assemble, only took about 2 mins to build. Thanks Spyderco.

Man...that's depressing.

I mean, nothing wrong with that knife, but the fact that I would be in serious trouble for carrying that little Spyderco Delica in my pocket is just insane.

I got a couple of these for the kids. They snap together well, and are functional just like the actual Spyderco Endura. They glow in the dark. The only downside is that the plastic burrs need to be sanded off.

What’s your idea of “budget”?

Mine is below $100.

So for that category I say a Spyderco Delica. I have more expensive knives but I always end up with a Delica in my pocket.

This product is probably a great way for young children to learn the inner workings of a folding knife through the process of assembling it, or as a trial run for them to demonstrate that if they handled a real one they'd be safe and smart with it.
