SmartWool Merino 250 Crew

smartwool 250 merino wool top baselayer. some down puffy over it i got from rei. mountainhardware pants with fleece lining inside (it is a heavy item but for camping, quick day hikes it kept me warm). I don't have winter boots but these keen boots i have that are waterproof worked out for just one hike then got somewhat wet.

Ripped the tags off too soon. I'm 6'0, 180 lbs and the medium is quite loose in both torso and arms. Shoulder width, sleeve length and torso length is normal. Fortunately I know how to use a sewing machine, but this should be called regular fit, or better: sloppy American fit.

The SmartWool Merino 250 Crew is a great piece of gear. Uber cozy.

This shirt was pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Lightweight, with just enough heft that you know you are wearing something warm. It fits me snugly, but still plenty of room for a t-shirt or similar underneath. It's just what I need to keep me warm when I'm working from home in a mid-60 deg...

I bought a Smartwool 250 1/4 zip top from Poshmark. It arrived today and ABSOLUTELY REAKED of shitty, cheap perfume. I mean you could smell it from across the house, it was so bad. I immediately put it in the washing machine - cold water, with Tide Coldwater detergent, normal cycle (it’s 100% merino wool).

This is still a great product. However, I have 4 that are older and finally wore one out and just replaced it. The fabric is still great on the new one but the fit is off. I would say the shirt is now slightly over-sized and maybe a hot washing will shrink the fit. This is why I held back one star o...

This year's design feels boxier and fits worse. I have owned probably 15 of these shirts and the two I bought this year are just looser and drape more. I buy this as both a base layer and as something i wear to work in a casual workplace environment, and am really dissapointed that they have changed...

I'd go with Smartwool 250. 100% merino. Don't wash it too much, let it air dry and it'll retain its shape and last for a long time.

I bought this for a good base layer that I could also wear as a go to shirt on warmer days. So far this shirt has lived up to its expectations. It feels great, it looks great. It keeps me nice and warm. Unfortunately it has not been super cold out for me to give it a complete test. I will be skiing ...
