IEM help - 5-piece band from Perth, Aus

You really do get what you pay for. I would recommend used g3 or new g4 senn; or psm1000 shure. Yes expensive… but going cheap is a bad option i think. You could hire for the time being and when you do get enough $$ you could then buy.

Who is winning the IEM game right now?

If Shure it’s PSM1000 or bust & they do work great, volume knob issue aside. Also I’m big fan of the RF Venue antenna & RF distro’s.

And if you're planning to feed them Dante, the 4 channels can only come from a maximum of 3 devices. If you're running in stereo this isn't an issue, but we run them in dual mono so the 4 channels could all becoming from different intercom frames. PSM-1000's everyone knows are great. They sound great, they're reliable, they integrate into WWB which we all know is great.

Wireless receiver transmitter pro/con

With that responsibility I don't want to take any changes and only use decent, professional gear. In my book that also means nothing in the 2.4 Ghz range, as other have said here, there is to much going on in that part of the frequency spectrum. So for me that means either the Shure PSM 300, 900 or 1000 series or the Sennheiser ew G4 IEM series. Yes, not cheap but tried and tested devices that I can trust.

And in professional environments with lots of other wireless gear and LED Screens and all that stuff that’s affecting the RF stability the shure stuff always seemed a lot more stable to me. If you’re in this price range maybe think about PSM1000, this is clearly the best solution as the receivers have two antennas for diversity. Sennheiser G3 was always a pain to get them stable on big stages whereas I never had a problem or an artist complaining about a PSM900/1000.

In Ear Monitors for Drummer

If you are a drummer stay wired.. No wireless issues. Shure PSM 1000, In most situations if there is a drum wedge the engineer can just unplug the wedge send and plug in an XLR for your mix.
