And the nice thing about having it as a layer instead of built together into a single glove is that you can mix and match them as needed. I do most of my hiking in California, where the weather extremes can be pretty extreme

 What I like about these is that, first of all, they are truly waterproof. I literally filled these gloves up with water from the sink and had to squeeze them before any water came out. They are very well stitched. There's a single seam that goes through the glove

 For your base layer, you don't want something overly warm because if you have to take them off, you don't have any other options. So you want something fairly thin, maybe 20% warmer than your bare hand. And you want something that gives you good dexterity so that you can continue doing the kinds of things you need to without having to take your gloves off every time you want to do something. My Favorite Winter Gloves

 I normally amends medium glove, but I wear XLs in these, so definitely you want to size up. Also, to show, they have an acrylic liner. Both gloves have the same acrylic liner, and this is what keeps their hands warm. It's an acrylic fleece

 You have this rubber grip for dexterity. These are pretty much the cold weather and rain, they're the bee's knees for doing that. Okay, so let's take a closer look at the Showa Temres Gloves. First of all, there are two versions of it

Great, but consider upgraded model

I've used these on multiple mountaineering trips and they are absolutely awesome for snow. Hands stay dry and warm without issue. 4 out of 5 stars because they run quite small, I'm size Large in most gloves but will need a XL or XXL in these gloves.

 It's amazing how warm they are, considering that they they are actually quite thin and flexible. I was surprised by this, as the product picture makes them look thick and inflexible.  In tailored gloves like leather driving gloves I wear a medium, but in generic work gloves a large usually fits me. The large size in this glove fit just fine

These are exactly what I needed for my winter water sample collection duty. I collect a weekly water sample from the ocean in New England and the winters can be tough. My fingers go numb as soon as I get out of the car thanks to the cold and constant wind at the beach. I bought these because the neoprene gloves I have aren't warm and they're awful to get on and off
