Entry level, endgame...Holy Schiit
Own a few solid state amps and dac's, combos and separate units. This is my first tube amp and I absolutely love it. So many options for tube rolling, planning on adding some color with amph golds . I find the stock tubes be be very neutral tonally, bring out the highs and highlights female vocals a...

I'm not particularly found of the upper end on these headphones for music but they've been great for gaming. I'm looking for something with a similar sound stage but more balanced and of course closed back. Budget: $500-$800 - I'd like to stick to the lower end but I'll use these everyday and don't mind spending a bit more. Source: Schiit Modi 2 Uber / Schiit Valhalla 2.
Currently re-visiting this album on my HD800sdr>rolled Valhalla 2/Modi 3>Macbook Pro>VLC player rig, and its like Jack and Meg are recording here in the room with me. The detail in instrument separation is amazing. The soundstage is a real room--its not 'huge' its exactly the size of the recording space. The little bits of amp feedback in Seven Nation Army is syrupy and rad.
Schiit Audio Valhalla 2 Tube Amplifier Review |
Final Thoughts. The Valhalla 2 from Schiit Audio is an excellent amplifier. I loved how easily it scaled for any set of headphones I threw at it and what it accomplished for soundstage and de-fatiguing my P1s

Moment of Zen with the iFi Zen Dac V2
The sound is warm and the bass can really boom when bass boost is on. For a relatively inexpensive setup, I couldn't be happier.
So I got my first tube amp. Here are my first impressions of the Schiit Valhalla 2.
So I got the Schiit Valhalla 2 tube amp a few days ago. Bought it used off Canuck Audio Mart (CAM).
Great tube amp. Definitely worth the price.
I have the Valhalla 2 connected to my MacBook using the Schitt DAC. The sound is amazing. Working from home I’m constantly in meetings and listening to music in between. I had a portable Mojo - which I love - but I was a bit tired of switching back and forth so I did some research for a reasonably p...

I like the R-41M, and while they handle instruments quite well, the vocals are a bit subpar compared to what I can get from the headphones and DAC/AMP combo I use (Sennheiser HD6XX and Schiit Valhalla 2 + Modius). My budget is around USD$500 dollars, with some room to go slightly over if it's just a truly fantastic deal. My main priority is clarity and detail at low volumes.

I have the Aiyima at the 12'oclock position (half way) and my Valhalla 2 at a comfortable listening position which is around 9 o'clock. However, even at this relatively comfortable listening volume, I would notice noise coming from the speakers.
