Santa Cruz Bronson

I’ve rented a lot of bikes during work travel, and I don’t know if I’ve ever had a better ride than a Santa Cruz Bronson on some super fast single track in Oregon. Also, Danny MacAskil is one of the few riders who can sell me a bike. I’d really like to spring for a 5010 for my next bike, but I’ve got a nice (3rd owner) Stump jumper that’s holding me over for now.

They're overpriced and poor value, but they're great bikes overall. Owned a Bronson and a Chameleon, enjoyed them both, really well made bikes. With that being said, their re-sell value is insane, especially during the great bike shortage. Sold both my SC's in the last 2 years, both sold within 24hrs of posting, above bike blue book value.

The bronson is great too, but it doesn’t have a lock out, which is a nice feature to have for rides that are heavier on climbing. I’m also not so much of a fan of the dropper post that comes stock with it, but that can be changed I guess. Price range is 5-6k, so I’m probably looking at the cheapest model of the SB 150 and the middle tier model for the Bronson.

My Bronson is awesome for 1, and a little of 2, but I recently started to feel « under-biked » because of that gnarly terrain. I am an aggressive rider... I’ll also do 1-2 enduro races during summer. Busted two rims this summer (cushcore now), upgraded rear hub for i9 hydra, installed a cascade link, trying things but, it always feels like I’m being dismantled apart when I release the brakes (which i like to do).

I’ve PR’ed all my local trails on the Bronson. It’s that good.

I couldn’t imagine a better bike than the SC Bronson I got this summer. Gold looks sharp and the mullet is a blast to ride.

Just a couple solid options.

You get the rollover of the 29 up front without the butt buzz and reasonable stand over clearance. My last bike was a full 27.5” (Devinci Troy). The Troy is a great bike, but the Bronson is a step up. I’m noticeably faster and the bike is so plush.

Silent, good looking, as fancy as you want to get ( I have an alloy Bronson and it honestly was a fair price) (also a tallboy carbon which was not a reasonable price). They have the ideal geometry in my opinion, no adjustment period needed just hop on and it feels like home. I've had lot's of specialized before, and loved those too, but the SC is hard to beat. They certainly never disappoint.
