I don't really know that much about skiing equipment so I'm looking for advice on choosing a good pair of boots. 🎿

The ones I have now are very cold and my toes are usually freezing after the first run (don't know if that's the right term 😅) and it makes skiing uncomfortable and I have to spend way too much time taking brakes to warm up (the tempature is usually around -20°C/-4°F when I go skiing 🥶). They also always feel either too tight (my legs hurt and my feet go numb) or too loose which makes skiing difficult. My legs are always so sore from the boots the next day and going on skiing trips that last for a few days is torture. 😣

So I guess what I'm looking for is boots that are good for cold weather and are comfortable to wear. 😊 I would really appreciate some help since I know next to nothing about these things. 🙈 Also feel free to ask questions if you need more information to give advice! ✌🏻

I need help with choosing new boots.

 But generally this is your average intermediate to advanced skiing type of flex, all-mountain boot. Great for a variety of conditions and terrain, and a really nice comfortable fit as well. So in addition to that HD, that custom shell, we also get this bolstered parts of plastic on the outside and then through the spine here. So stiffer plastic leading up here really helps the lateral stiffness of the boot

So while it's not the stiffest for aft, it still has that lateral stiffness, which is great for today's modern ski shapes, allowing you to really access the full side cut of the ski, generate higher edge angles. So we do have four buckles

 But a lot of it has to do with your level of aggression and how hard you're driving into a boot, as well as your weight. So you've got to take those factors into account. But generally this is your average intermediate to advanced skiing type of flex, all-mountain boot. Great for a variety of conditions and terrain, and a really nice comfortable fit as well

 So stiff plastic tongue here, that's where you get your fore-aft boost from. And then that nice plastic upper cuff here does add and combines well with that rear spine to help with that lateral support. So really nice liner for this level of boot, for sure. And definitely does a good job of keeping moisture out as well

 But right out of the box, it's average, medium width foot. And with that 100 flex rating, certainly in that intermediate to advanced range, you know, that 100 rating is kind of that threshold to being above an intermediate skier. But a lot of it has to do with your level of aggression and how hard you're driving into a boot, as well as your weight. So you've got to take those factors into account

Hey everyone! I'm considering adding a 2nd pair of skis. Last season I finally upgraded my 10 year old beginner skis to Elan Wingman 78Ti. There was a bit of learning curve with them, but they work great and are really fun to use in nicely groomed terrain or ice. But slushy or choppy terrain is kind of a struggle.

So I'm looking for a more relaxed ski that can handle more of a variety of terrain. I'd say I'm a slightly above intermediate skier, and kind of in the middle of cautious and aggressive. I normally ski every weekend at my home mountain (Mtn Creek) and we make 1-2 trips per year up to bigger resorts like Killington or Gore. 

My boots are Nordica Sportmachine 100, which I bought with last season as well. I was kind of interested in the ripstick, but wasn't sure if they'd be a good fit. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks
