The Salomon Speedway Split Snowboard is a board designed with the intermediate to advanced backcountry rider in mind. With camber under the back foot and a directional shape, this board has explosive turns, as well as good powder float from flat segments under the front foot. This board has a stiffer more responsive flex, and is very stable at speeds.

 Of course from those fibers, the wood core selection type, but also the nose and tail feature something called damp life, or damp lifer, and what that is, is sections on that nose and tail that are actually honeycomb and cork. So it keeps the swing weight low on the tips, keeps more of the weight towards the center of the board's mass. So if you do happen to spin this thing, you can spin it a little bit faster because the center of mass is towards this, you know, the weight, most of the weight is towards the center of the mass, which is really nice. But keeping the tips nice and lightweight allow a larger board to be maneuvered a little bit easier instead of having lots of weight way out on the tips

 Then instead of having biax or triax fiberglass, there is a flax fiber and carbon called the CFX. What that does is keep it lightweight, makes it powerful of course with carbon, and then also damp because of that flax fiber, which is pretty cool. Now I'm not sure if it's like a double layup, like a biax layup of the CFX or if it's triax fiberglass, but the construction materials, carbon, and flax, which is actually kind of cool. Another great thing about the Speedway is that even though it has a fairly large size, the smallest size is a 155 and goes up to that 170, it is really lightweight

 I believe there's a one degree on the nose and tail that actually kind of mellows into a more aggressive bevel at two degrees in between the feet, but it's a little less catchy especially in that tail contact point than what you'd have with just a straight 90 degree edge. This is a great deck, really lightweight, this is a big size, this is the 160, but again if you have a size 11 feet larger, go up to the 170 size because it has a 26 centimeter waist width. And then if you're like 10 and a half and below, feel free to ride the 155 to 165 because the waist widths are, you know, to 25.7 centimeters and more narrow

2020 Salomon Speedway Snowboard

 Unlike a lot of boards these days that are shorter and wider that you're supposed to size down on, Salomon actually recommends on the Speedway to size up, about 5 centimeters. So if you normally ride a 155, you'll want to size up to this 160. There is a honeycomb texture in the nose and if you look really close you can actually see it and what that's going to do is just because you're sizing up, it's going to make that extra 5 centimeters quite a bit lighter than it would in a typical board. Some of our testers quoted that this board was made for comfort and stability at high speeds
