Great for those who like to explore with their dog off-leash, the Knot-a-Leash is ideal for taking your dog from car to trailhead and is easy to stash. The leash also has features like reflective material, a loop to attach accessories, and an incredibly durable locking carabiner to hook to your dog's collar. The carabiner can be locked by twisting a small piece over the gate, providing extra security when attached to your dog. 
During testing, it was noted that the leash was a little short, coming in at only 5 feet compared to the 6 feet of many other leashes, but it was not a significant issue. We tested the "small" sized leash, which is 7mm thick, and found it to be a little flimsy when used on larger dogs. We would recommend using the "large" 11mm leash for pups that require a more sturdy leash. This leash's rope held up poorly when tested for fraying, while the carabiner attachment held firm in all situations. We would not recommend this for dogs who like to chew. However, it is an excellent choice for those searching for a compact, lightweight, no-fuss leash that's ready for your next adventure and easy to stash when it's no longer needed.

 The size small is VERY thin, probably still has decent weight capacity but you wouldn't want to have to wrap it around your hand. This has nearly scared me away from this leash entirely, but I think I'll give the larger size a try directly from the distributor. If I have access to my review I'll leave an update or comparison. I appreciate netrush but the last two things to arrive have been big brands and things I've had in the past and both had to be returned for poor quality

Not worth the money

 That’s not coming undone.  Also, I’m not wild about the handle. It’s basically just some fabric wrapped over the rope and stitched. A little padding would have been nice

 The fabric and stitching is of good quality though.  While all the materials seem durable and high quality, they don’t add up to $40, especially given the clumsy design.  I’ve been impressed by other Ruffwear gear, but this leash is quite disappointing.

 At first, I was worried about the handle being too hard but it turned out to be pretty flexible. I had the handle looped in my hands for added security. Contrary to what others have said, the material of the handle didn't give me a secured grip (leash almost slipped out of hand when my dog pulled). So, I had to also put my fingers through the accessory loop since the rubber on the outside of the loop gave my fingers a slightly better grip, but the stitching didn't feel secured between the handle and the accessory loop

I understand the loop was not designed for that purpose, but I would do whatever I could to keep dog safe. Also, like many have said, the leash gets kinked up very often, but I find it easy to straigthen out

Well-made leash with a VERY secure carabiner but the grip doesn't feel as secured as I have expected

  The second issue has to do with the shape or design of the carabiner/clasp. Since our puppy is so young, we end up taking him outside 6 or 7 times per day leading us to put the leash on and off quite a bit. My wife and I have both found it very hard to hold our pup in one hand and clasp the leash onto his harness with without help. This becomes especially difficult when rushing to clasp the leash in the middle of a puppy potty accident in the house

Great quality but it gets twisted up

Will not come unclasped

I love the look and functionality of this leash. I like the reflective striping along the leash, locking carabiner and comfortable hand grip. This is the second that I have purchaed. The four stars are because after a couple of years of use, the carabiner of the original leash lost its spring action, and could mistakenly be locked without actually being engaged
