 It's not wide enough or deep enough to comfortably grip, and my fingers are average size. I paid up and bought a more expensive brand and am pleased with the handle area in those. This product may be fine for other people, but I have arthritis so this was a big issue for me.

I returned this as it is not BPA free. I really wanted to love it but cannot just accept that I am exposing my family and myself to toxic chemicals just for convenience. I tried exhaustingly to find one of these that did not use BPA but have since learned that Rubbermaid has stopped making BPA free containers like this (they were the white plastic variety).  I intended to use this for brining meat but will instead use a BPA free food grade bucket from Home Depot or Lowes that comes at a quarter of the cost

This is a quality product. The clear plastic is thick and the item is well made. The optional lid fits very well and is good quality as well. I bought this to use when sterilizing CPAP parts as the solution can be stored for 14 days
