 Ops 118 from Rossignol for you today. This just renames the Gamer back to what it was

 before, Black Ops 118. It is fat, surfy, freeride fun, an absolute blast to ski. This is the

 186 here and I had this out during our ski test day in some pretty spring-like conditions

 and this thing just did fantastic. Super easy to turn. It feels like it's a lot lighter

 on your feet than it is on the scale. Definitely that 2500 gram mark is in play for this and

 just because of that sheer amount of mass, this ski definitely packs on the pounds a

 little bit. Built from a poplar wood core, we also get an ABS beam underfoot as well

 as damp tech rubber inserts in the tips and the tails. So that's a pretty nice construction

 for a ski like this, but really kind of the star of this show is the shape and the profile

 with very long rocker profiles, super tapered shape, very much into that deep snow mentality.

 You can use this on less than bottomless snow days, but it certainly excels in deep on track

 snow, backcountry freestyle, certainly in play and just a whole lot of fun. But we do

 see some nice positive camber underfoot, still giving it that edge grip as well as some nice

 responsiveness from this portion of the ski. Anytime you're getting into more technical

 terrain, it is nice to have that camber underfoot. So if you have to get your edge in and hold

 on something steeper, that will do that and won't allow the tips and tails to wash out,

 kind of like what we saw with more fully rockered skis from a few years ago. But now putting

 that camber back in and counteracting it with the more dramatic tip rocker, tail rocker

 and taper shape seems to make a lot of sense. But we do have that nice positive camber underfoot,

 very mustachioed shape to this ski and then just super long and pretty aggressive rocker

 in the tip here, starting way down here. Pretty smooth and progressive. It's not quite the

 same as the more abrupt Black Ops 98. It is a little bit smoother and that does hold true

 to snow conditions. Deeper piles of snow, that certainly holds true there. Then a nice

 smooth taper shape, very round. That's going to add to that more playful nature of the

 ski and the deep stuff. So when you're looking at this thing, the widest part of the ski

 is way down here. So this part from here to here really stays off the snow, planes up

 and over anything. And then we see very similar in the tail. These things are heavy. Where

 that rocker starts way down here, very gradual taper shape leading to a pretty good splay

 in the tail. Certainly has free ride written all over it as well as that back country freestyle

 capability. And then again, like we saw in the shovel, very rounded shape in the tail

 and that equates to that nice round turning nature in the snow. So this thing wheelies

 all the way down, deep powder bowls. That's where this thing really comes to life. Anytime

 you're, you know, if you're cat skiing or living in a really snowy area, heli skiing,

 anything where you're looking at deep, untracked snow, this Black Ops 118 is certainly an appropriate

 tool for the job. And if you get out there and you're skiing that type of stuff more

 often than not, good for you and you need a ski like this. So this is the Rossi Black

 Ops 118. Super awesome free ride ski. Really just that modern shape and style that is highly

This is a great ski for someone that's looking for a very stout, more aggressive powder ski for big mountain freeride type situations. In a couple inches of fresh snow, this thing is an absolute dream. It turns very, very quickly, very smoothly, but if you're looking to charge through snow, this is a winner
