The Rode Procaster is a fine microphone, but you could save $100 by purchasing a Sennheiser e 835 or a Shure SM57 with a WindTech 600 foam windscreen. If you decide against the EVO 4 you should consider the Zoom PodTrak P4, which offers 70 dB of mic gain and 4 x XLR inputs. In the final analysis the acoustics of your room will be much more important than minute differences between dynamic microphones.

The procaster is the clear winner for day to day use. In my noisy (urban, computer in the room) semi-treated home office, I get a s/n ratio of 20-25db with the at2020. With the procaster, that goes up to 35-40db, which is enough that I can run noise suppression without it being noticeable.

I think the sound quality of the procaster is top tier at it's price point....however electrical interference can play a big part on the sound quality for the product. I'm running dual monitors, LED lighting and a beast of a PC. Whether it be poor ground issues or just the amount of electrical noise...
