Razer Huntsman Elite

[Stabilizer Loving the keyboard, and desk space that resulted from switching to this keyboard. I originally had a Razer Huntsman Elite, but needed the extra space for my mouse. Was gonna get the 10-keyless version, but it didn't have clicky switches, so I waited.

Geez where to start? I dropped a stack of bills on this huntsman elite optical expecting it to surpass the experience a mushy old G19 I had been using for a decade was providing. Keyboard is comfortable for sure and the keys are responsive. Biggest issue I have with this keyboard is the shift characters i.e. @#$% are not backlit and this is a severe oversight in the design. my first mechanical keyboard was the Logitech g 613, and after breaking 1 and losing the dongle for another I bought the razer huntsman elite for $50 from a friend... but I miss the wirelessness, don't particularly like the switches on my razer keyboard, and although it is aluminum throughout, it's just not up to snuff I guess. I'm looking at the Keychron K4 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard (Version 2) full RGB, but it doesn't have a wifi dongle, media playback keys, etc, and it's spaced all weird. whatever I get I'm going to probably replace the alpha keys with a set of caps I already have, and replace the switches with NK\_Sherbets https://novelkeys.xyz/products/nk\_-sherbet. so if there's a shell out there that would work id be glad to not have to pay for caps and switches, so long as there hot-swappable.

Package came in okay, so that may effect other reviews if their keyboard may have been ruined on the shipment. Keyboard comes with razer customized keys which are very tactile, meaning they feel great to type on and are reactive. It uses a new laser system to detect key presses, but isn't as fast as...

but using the razer huntsman elite keyboard feels a bit awful overall, because. 1. it's a shit quality plastic build, and the feet on my keyboard have been superglued back together more times than i can count. 2. i hate the clicky sound, it's just obnoxiously loud. i prefer my keys to be silent, but if that's not possible, at least half as loud or less than the purple switches.
