Uh, so just be careful with it. So those are my main pros and cons for the Pilot Vanishing Point.

If I need to write on the plane I use a rollerball. 4. The Pilot Vanishing Point and its ilk seem like novelties designed to appeal to people who want their fountain pen to be just like an office-store click ballpoint. (Funny enough, many VP owners recommend syringe filling to avoid using Pilot's converters, which is more of a sign the pen is defective by design).

The pen had some fanfare and it was unique in that it was an affordable, and almost cheap click fountain pen. The pen turned out to be an alright pen but the price point was high and for a little more you can buy a grey market Pilot Vanishing Point with a steel nib.

My most unpopular opinion is that I like the Platinum Curidas more than the Pilot Vanishing Point. I understand why people have issues with the design, but those factors aren’t issues for me personally. I do think they need to work on getting the price down. I got it at the accidental pre-order discount price, but I’m not sure I would have bought it at full price.

Sailor Souboku is my current go-to. Well-behaved in several different pens and the blue-black color shades wonderfully on even mediocre paper with the right nib and flow. Currently in a Lamy 2K (F) and Pilot Vanishing Point (F). Love it.
