Patagonia Atom Pack

I’ve got a Patagonia Atom 8L. It fits my 11” iPad Pro (with keyboard case and pencil), phone cable, sweat rag, spare sock, prosthetic supplies, water, small med kit with doses of important medications, small snacks. The important thing is to keep weight down. Sling bags, obviously, don’t evenly distribute weight.

First off, my Atom Pack replaced an aging JanSport backpack from the early 2000s, as the JanSport bag was wrecking my shoulders on longer hikes.

Where this bag excels:

It works very well when doing lighter (~12lb) long distance (~10 miles) hikes or heavier short distance hikes/traveling in airpo...

Patagonia Terrebonne pack tiny and do well in a lot of weather. Most annoying thing is the patagonia label.

Wish I had read the reviews before buying this “pack”. It’s ridiculously small. It will for exactly one big Nalgene bottle, one lunch, and a light shell (my fleece wouldn’t fit).

Hi! I have carried my Patagonia Atom teardrop style for over 12 years and it is still awesome but can't hold a computer.

I ordered this backpack for a trip I have coming up. Received it in the mail. I opened all the zippers and pouches and it was very cool. Then I tried it on... the straps are horrible! They are so course that you would have blisters within an hour of wearing this backpack. So unfortunately I will be ...

Fits everything great, the pocket design is seriously the best. On one side I have my larger 1.5L bottle nestled in the 750ml pot, the other side I have my 1L squirt top bottle(s). In the pocket above I stick my first aid kit. The top depending on how the bag is packed can trap down my sleeping pad (otherwise I use a strap system), the hip belt is big but I feel its just right for what I like to keep in it.

I own a Refugio 28 but it was too big for day hikes this is pefect. only complaint is the pack does not breath that well on my back and gets warm.

- Patagonia Atom 8. I said in a response to another comment all of the issues I have with this bag. - Deuter Travel Belt. I thought I could make this work by adding some organization and a padded shoulder strap, but the water bottle pockets are pretty useless, and the buckle is too big and hits right at the shoulder, so it’s really uncomfortable.

A great quality pack. Nice color. Too small for my needs. I bought a similar Mountainsmith bag that accompanied my water bottle.
