My Kitchen Aid has rusted thru, the enamel wore off in one spot so I’m back to researching again. Seems like the really good ones are ~$100, I’m hoping to spend ~$40. Also since it’s Black Friday season if I find the more expensive ones on sale, which are the best?

<p>Edit: I’m not sure why the issue with tea kettles unless it’s a water/heat thing. Like we have hard water here and a water softener. Also I tend to use high heat even when they say use medium. My grandmother only ever had one, I have no idea the brand but it was beaten up and banged all to heck but fill it with water and you’re gtg lol.</p>

  DO NOT use high heat - I actually cut my heat level down by half or more in everything we cooked in the pan. I feel I should have been doing prior to this pan as its probably what warped my others over time that weren't as solid as this one. Out of the 10 levels, with increments our stove went to, the highest we went on our stove was 3.0

 This method will pop or break that stubborn seal the food has on the pan. This works 9 times out of 10 for any pan, I've found.  Hope this helps. I'll update my review depending on how the 2nd pan performs and trying to be extra diligent this time

  DO NOT use brillo or other harsh scrubbing pads. If the pan is still performing well and needs that extra "elbow" grease try this tip first - Put some water in the pan, bring to a boil or just under (again, with a heat setting comparable to heat for cooking. NEVER high.) and then use your surface safe spatula or scraper to gently remove the food

 It'll cook or boil. Again that's for our stove, so take it how you will. For trial and error, start on the low go up from there, but again, not too high.  DO NOT use metal or even a hard plastic utensils

After reading a review by Cooks Kitchen, we decided on this pan to replace an old one and it worked very well for a couple of years. Then, it began to be less slippery and develop some odd small bumps, like a rash, giving it visible and felt texture, which, for instance, makes it a little difficult to flip an egg without tearing the white or breaking the yolk. It still works well enough if not exceptionally well and is easy to clean. We primarily use it to cook eggs, saute, or slow cook items on medium heat, saving high-heat cooking, such as steaks, for the cast iron pans

This Oxo non-stick skillet seems to last longer than most, but it's more expensive than a lot of them. Guess you get what you pay for.
