Smaller Than I Thought It Would Be

I ordered this because I wanted a smaller whisk and this had good reviews. I've been happy in the past with OXO products, so I thought I would give it a try. The first use was OK, not wonderful, but it was the right size for smaller serving sizes. Once I got the hang of using it (it's really flat, unlike my other flat whisk, which has a metal coil around a U-shaped wire attached to the handle), I've become a real fan,

 I would have just squished them all around in the Baggie. Much more even distribution. This morning, it not only beat the scrambled eggs so that they were light and fluffy (I used to use a fork, and had been pleased with it), but I also used it to stir them in the pan (non-stick, and no damage), but I also used it to flip the eggs to get the last little part on the top done. So easy

Originally I balked at the price of something so simple as a whisk but after years of inferior balloon whisks I finally broke and bought this in part because of its flat design.  After the first use I was in love, this whisk does so much and it asks so little. Perfect for scrambling light and fluffy eggs and flipping omelets with its flat shape, I used it for whisking up a nice roux for broccoli cheese soup and it performed better than any other whisk I have used to date. I was leery of using it to whip up some heavy cream as I like it to be stiffer than I thought this could handle but it worked amazingly

 Handle is quite comfortable even under high heat and the business end washes thoroughly easily. Stores in drawer easily also. There's just nothing to complain about here.

. somehow I'd never tried a flat whisk until now, but I will never be without one again! I was a little afraid this would be too big for smallish pans but it isn't, and it's a real gem in my vintage cast iron saucier as well as anything else I've mixed with it. Oxo hasn't disappointed me yet and their design and build here is excellent. The loops are staggered and curved right for maximum stirring contact or a little pressure flattens them all to the same height--best of two different applications
