Osprey Fairview 40
I went backpacking in Thailand for 1 months with Osprey Farpoint 40, and I slightly over packed it. Took a little more than I needed. Besides the style the Tom Bihn 19 and CHZ22 are good for EDC but I think the S25 & CHZ26 (new pre order) will be better and more versatile. Possible family/dad bag in the future.

too small for me
I looked at numerous osprey packs .I wanted a carry on. This just didn't have enough room. The outside pocket has room for a laptop which I don't need. I think that the padding took up space . Bag for 15 year old headed to Europe
Duffels are rarely the right proportions for carry on and hard to carry any distance. The duffel/backpack convertible versions aren't very comfortable in backpack mode. I would have her try on the Osprey Fairview 40 which comes in several torso sizes.
