Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050

I hated playing Apex with 1050 so I avoided buying that card again. A similar card RX 560D costs twice as much as 1030 (just like 1050) and yields around 40-60-70 fps which is still unplayable for me in Apex.

It's a modified Lenovo H50, with Bantry CRB mobo, AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7 CPU, and 8gb RAM, in which I have plugged a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti for GPU ; I also changed the shitty power supply for a 600 watts one (Evga 600B). I needed to do some weird cabling, since Lenovo has house-made connectors and such. Anyway, it gets the job done, I can even play some games (mostly 360-era ones like Portal or Fallout, but also some newer indie titles like Hollow Knight).

You could get a nice Geforce GTX 1050 until later, when you can afford a beefier GPU. This way your son can still get a little performance out of his GPU, before you get him an actual gaming graphics card. Here is a link to one I was looking at on Newegg, but for the most part, any 10- Series GPUs you should be able to find relatively cheap, as they are older GPUs. This should suffice until you can get him something like a 3-fan MSI Gaming GPU in the 20- or 16- series come Christmas.

I have an ASUS N580VD-DM160T with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 (4GB) as graphic card (with only an HDMI port, no Display Port or VGA). [My pc I need a monitor mainly for work (write documents and programming; often I need to have multiple windows on the screen together) but also to watch movies, series and live concerts.

Mines lenovo ideapad 330 and its not that much of a gaming laptop (but it says gaming level processor lol) but it has a Nvidia GTX 1050. And everytime i play heavy games like warthunder or FL Studio on battery, it drains like hell, almost just 30 seconds and my laptop goes to hibernation mode. But not a problem when charging. Im concerned about the battery life of this laptop because it is fixed unlike others that you can detach and charge-n-play.
