I tried the Nordica Santa Ana 88s, they were ok but a bit soft and chattery. The vokyl secret 95s were too boring/groomer oriented, didn’t turn well. I liked the armada declivity 92 but could use a little more dampening in the tips. I’m 5’3” 120lb female.

Ski Recommendation: Women's High-Intermediate East Coast

They are really nice and sturdy but super forgiving and I’m able to make small turns and ski bumps with them. To me they were the most versatile (and the most fun off-the-bat). The 88s were also very fun, but since the 93s were still good for bumps/small turns I figured I’d go fatter so I can take these out west :). Background: I’ve skied (east coast) for two seasons, but since my skiing friends are super advanced, I ramped up quickly and would call myself high intermediate - I’m comfortable on all terrain on-piste.

I'd throw the Nordica Santa Ana and the K2 Mindbender Alliance into the mix. My wife is a similar height/weight to you and loves both of them. If you want something a bit more playful, the Line Pandora is another popular option.

Help Buying 1st Pair of Skis - Black Pearls or Santa Anas?

I looked into santa ana since they have several versions with different waist widths. Apparently the santa ana 97 is recommended for experts while the 93-88 is recommended for intermediate as well so i would assume the skinnier the skis are, the easier for you to edge and carve —> easier foe you to perfect your technique. That’s partly why i went for the santa ana 88. However, if you already demo-ed the blackpearl 88 and loved it, i’d say go for it!

What's similar to the Rossignols Sky 7?

The Santa Ana feels a little more stable at speed, but turning feels just as easy bc as a women’s ski, the binding mounting point is slightly more centered. I feel the binding position also forces my posture a little more forward, as I have a bad habit of being in the back seat too much. They’re also mostly the same construction as the popular men’s version of the Nordica Enforcers, but a little more playful.
