By the end of the year was fairly comfortably ripping down everything on-piste and could at least follow behind without worry on difficult off piste terrain. While I'm happy with my choice, the skis worked great for the paces I put them through on days I was zipping all around the mountain, by the end of the season I found myself wanting some more playful skis for days when things got packed in, mogul runs were more frequent with the occasional lap through a terrain park or when I wanted to practice things like skiing backwards.

In my opinion the best skis in that waist range all things considered are:. 1: Nordica enforcer 100, enforcer free 104, blizzard Bonafides, Rustler 10. The rustler 10 and free 104 are both “twin tip” but still have enough metal to be damp quiet and stable.

6'0 270lbs here. Volkl M6 Mantra 184 is what I ski, and before that I was on an older pair of Matra's. This is what you want, or something similarly stiff like a Nordica Enforcer etc...

I ski in the Tahoe area so I like the idea of getting a do-it-all resort ski in ~100mm category that I’d primarily be using off piste when the conditions are good, but can still be a fun time on groomers during the low snow stretches. So far my top picks are the Fischer Ranger 102, Nordica Enforcer 100 (or 104), and Blizzard Rustler 10.

I think you're on the right track for somthing to grow into, but the enforcer might hold you back a bit, definitely demo before you buy. Between the enforcer 100 and 104 I'd go 104, it's got more tail rocker and will be a little more forgiving. You should add the Blizzard Rustler 9 to your list. But if you dont anticipate leaving the groomers next season then go altogether skinnier.
