 I've added vinegar to the routine and regularly unscrew the frothing disc to clean off milk that has accrued around the tip of the shaft (pardon the image). Still hoping this will tide me over until I have enough space in my kitchen for an espresso machine.

 (Some use French presses, but the idea is the same.) Basically all but the first few pumps need to occur below the milk line to avoid injecting too much air into the milk. It's not easy, but with some patience you *can* pull off latte art, if that's what you're going for.  UPDATE (eight months in): While I still think this is a great frother (short of a steam wand), I'm deducting a star for two reasons

  There's a bit of a learning curve, as with any milk steaming/frothing tool. If you want microfoam-like milk, ignore Ninja's instructions (including the silly max fill line) and check out some YouTube videos that walk you through this. (Some use French presses, but the idea is the same.) Basically all but the first few pumps need to occur below the milk line to avoid injecting too much air into the milk

Finally a decent frother, with a few caveats

I have never owned a frother before so this was a learning experience. I have only used it with 4 ounces of cold 2% cows milk. It froths up a lot depending on how much you pump the frother. I would suggest keeping the Usage Instructions because the bottom parts came undone fairly soon and I didn't know how to put it back together

  I use this for oat and soy milk, and it works decently for both. Especially an extra creamy oat milk like Chobani!  Overall, it’s one of the best milk frothers I’ve used, even though it sometimes splashes droplets out, and breaks easily.
