Excellent for entry level w/plenty of room for growth!
OK so you're pretty new to DSLR photography, excluding your cell phone and snappy pocket camera. Some of the pocket cameras do take great photos indeed. However, if you get the inkling that you can do better and want more but you don't want to invest in the more expensive Nikons because you're to af...

Picked up a Nikon D3100 camera + lens at a yard sale for $20. Has some issues but it can take clear photos!
I tried it on my D3300 and it works fine. I tried using the Nikkor AF-S lens from my D3300 and it works fine on the D3100!.

Nikon D3100 - best entry-level DSLR?
Will ya yeah show the AFF works reasonably well, and it's got some neat tricks like it face protection there, although it's a little bit slower times to focus. Also, the auto focusing sound of the lens we picked up on the audio track and you can't plug in an external mic kind of sounds like a small Mouse scratching away at all. When I first tried out a d3100 there's a little bit disappointed about the video mode, especially with the AF F, which was little bit mediocre, and the fact that you could hear the auto focusing sound on the audio track and there's no external mic input

Years ago my sister got a nikon d3100 as a gift. She didn't ever get into photography so I used it a little . Now we had a photography class in school and I loved every bit of it, so I'm looking to get a little more into it, but I hate using the d3100. Fast forward to now I decided to hop on the trend of film cameras and got myself a Canon ae1.

Bought it after borrowing a friend's D3100
I love this camera! My extraordinarily trusting friend loaned me his for a trip to Switzerland and I really wanted to keep it when I got back. That was a few years ago and I finally can spring for it. I was happy to do so, even though it's discontinued. Yes, there are newer models, but this one is a...

Best digital camera for under $50?
Basically, if you have to ability to throw around $40-50 here and there, then you will be much better off just being patient and waiting until you have a little more money to buy a MUCH better camera. My first DSLR was a Nikon D3100, a roughly $700 camera when it first released. You can find one online used right now for around $150, pair it with a used 35mm lense, and youve got yourself a setup that will destroy any $40-50 digital camera, all while giving you that real feel for the art of photography with the ability to adjust ISO, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, etc. Not encouraging you to spend beyond you means, just pointing out how if youve already had the capability of affording multiple $50 cameras, then you should reconsider wasting money on the toy market.

As a mom of 3 little ones, I was so frustrated with the pictures I was getting of them with my old camera. I decided it was time to step up to a dSLR. After reading all the reviews and researching, I decided on the Nikon d3100. I have been SO thrilled and happy with my decision! This camera is aweso...

I love the fact that the Hero 9 can shoot in higher quality and take photos (as much as I love my camera, it's a Nikon D3100, so it's a bulky boy.) Not having to pull it out my camera for a quick shot would be a nice quality of life. But I am obsessed with the 360 shooting the Max offers. Being in Iceland means there is going to be beautiful scenery EVERYWHERE and I don't want to miss recording any of it.
