 So What you have here is a Bluetooth speaker, two tweeters to give you a stereo image from one speaker,, a nice big six-inch woofer, and an amp designed specifically for this speaker array, which is gonna put out about a hundred watts of power. We've been listening to them in here and this is quite loud and does a really nice job,. sounds like you would expect from Morel. You can also pair it with another one to have actual stereo sound, so you can have a left and a right Hogtalare in your system as well

Hey I'm JR, and we are here in the
Morel suite at the Venetian here at

CES 2020, and what you see here is
actually a speaker in a shelf. The shelf

is made by Ikea it's called the Kallax system of shelves, and Morel has designed

the speaker specifically to fit in those
shelves, and that is the speaker right

there, it's called the Hogtalare, which is
actually Swedish for speaker.

It fits actually also the IKEA Expedit
shelving system as well, but you don't

have to put it in an IKEA shelf, you can
actually put it on any shelf or any

surface in your home. This is a speaker
that simply fits in that location. So

what you have here is a Bluetooth
speaker, two tweeters to give you a

stereo image from one speaker, a nice big
six-inch woofer and an amp designed

specifically for this speaker array,
which is gonna put out about a hundred

watts of power. We've been listening to
them in here and this is quite loud and

does a really nice job, sounds like you

The Hogtalare supports Bluetooth 4.2 with AptX, but not AAC. While it&rsquo;s a fairly big speaker, it isn&rsquo;t very deep, at least in physical volume (and therefore in bass response). It has a woofer, not a subwoofer, and while it has a bass reflex port, it doesn&rsquo;t reach into sub-bass ranges

 If you want to spend a bit less while still filling the room with sound, the Amazon Echo Studio offers Amazon Alexa voice integration and Dolby Atmos surround sound thanks to multiple angled drivers for just $200. So while the Hogtalare looks and sounds just right on on a Kallax shelf, it doesn't hold up quite as well elsewhere.

 While it&rsquo;s a fairly big speaker, it isn&rsquo;t very deep, at least in physical volume (and therefore in bass response). It has a woofer, not a subwoofer, and while it has a bass reflex port, it doesn&rsquo;t reach into sub-bass ranges. It still can get quite loud, easily producing enough sound to fill a living room or small apartment.&nbsp;

The kick drum in Fleetwood Mac&rsquo;s &ldquo;The Chain&rdquo; sounds full and natural, not thunderous, but with plenty of bass presence through the Hogtalare. The guitar plucks and strums sound clear and full, with plenty of resonance in the lower frequencies and texture in the higher frequencies. The vocals also come through very well in the mix, prominent enough to stand out against the other elements.

 At First, I didn't even know it was there in the room because they had it sitting in some of those Ikea shelves where it just blends in beautifully,. Then they turned it on and I was just blown away by how much sound it really made.. It was absolutely incredible

Hey I'm JR, training manager here at Crutchfield,
and this is the Morel Högtalare Bluetooth speaker.

It is a simple, elegant music system that blends
into your decor. Let's talk about that first.

Morel designed it specifically to fit into
some Ikea bookshelving systems, the Kallax and

the Expedit. This fits perfectly, it blends
in, it looks like almost disappears in those

shelves. Of course, it still looks great just
standing on its own, so you can really put

it anywhere and it'll look okay. It measures 13-
1/16 inches wide by 13 inches tall, so if that fits

into your shelving system, even if it isn't
from Ikea, it'll still look great. It comes

in four colors; we have the white on display
here, it's also available in blue, black, and

red. The grille does come off, it is magnetic,
and it looks good even without the grille. Inside

the Morel Högtalare is a 50-watt amplifier,
that 50 watts is powering two 1-inch soft-dome

tweeters. They sound nice and bright and detailed,
and very crystal-clear. There's also a 6-inch

woofer and a front-firing port which work
together to give you bass all the way down

to about 36 Hertz. We were quite surprised
by just how much bass and overall sound this

thing really puts out, and it sounds great.
We've been playing around with it here in

studio and we thought it might be nice to
play it live in this video, so we set up a
