This sprinkler adds another dimension of adjustability with an integrated flow control dial for precision water adjustments. Need to water a large area? you can do it with this sprinkler with its large 4, 000 square' of coverage which isup to 75' long x 53' wide almost the size of a basketball Court! you can use the range control to reduce the coverage from the maximum 75' length down to only 15' long by sliding the range control levers. You can also position the pattern left, right or center using the range control levers. Not everyone has a yd this large though, so this sprinkler has the ability to adjust both the length as well as the width of its watering pattern. The width adjustment is a Melnor exclusive with the patented one-touch system which allows you to adjust the width from its maximum of 53' to a minimum of 20' by simply moving a lever up or down. Have the overall pattern right, but just need a little more, or a little less coverage? then use the integrated flow control knob that acts like a Zoom to grow or Shrink the whole pattern. So whether your yd is large, small, or somewhere in the middle, this sprinkler has you covered!

 It does seem to be spreading the water a little bit farther, but not necessarily that much farther. Let's go check the gallons per rate on the meter. So this is just a meter adding up how many gallons that's used and it looks like it's at four point Four nine, Four Point three, Three gallons per minute rate. Let's take one more reading here: Four Point Four Nine

 It's basically a valve that when it runs into it it can show it off, but this. these are kind of nice if they're unique. but I thought the timer and just run and do the kind of coverage I want I'm not right now thinking I'm gonna be able to get by with just one of these without having to reposition it I might have to put two in, put one a little farther closer to the driveway and another one about right here. I'm definitely not getting the 4,000 square feet coverage that they talked about because this yard is about 3,400 and it looks like I may be the most getting half of that covered by this sprinkler at this setup that I got here

 I'm kind of standing about where I'm seeing the low coming down compared to the road and it is about right here. just about get wet, but it has a nice uniform stream. I Think that this style sprinkler has a lot of advantages of putting about this equal amount of water. one less where that check or cutoff valve on this to put on pull on to pull off

Melnor XT TwinTouch Metal Base Oscillating Sprinkler review

* When I took ownership of the home, the backyard was like a swamp because some hoses were leaking and it had been left on for weeks.  Because of that I have no been watering much but the grass looks like it's suffering.

* I currently have 2 Melnor XT4200's but don't have enough pressure to run two from the same hose bib so I run one on each hose bib & move it every 20 minutes or so but this isn't really sustainable.  I got a quote for a sprinkler system but at nearly $10k, it made me wonder if maybe I could water my grass correctly for *significantly* less without wasting water.

Update Review: 6-13-18 For comparison I went to Home Depot and bought the Melnor metal oscillating Sprinkler. Basically you can control the length but not the width. Hooked it up to the same hose and it performed twice as well as the XT Turbo. At full flow it covers my entire 800 sqft yard

 The coverage on this is horrible. No where near what's advertised. I've had no problems like this with any other sprinkler I've owned. At the maximum flow setting the water height was 9 ft at the most and at the maximum length setting it reached maybe 15 ft at the most from the base

 The width didn't even cover the width of the yard. It literally operated like I had the water barely turned on, but I had it at full flow. Back to hand watering until I can find a new sprinkler.

Coverage not as advertised

 I had recently purchased a Melnor XT Mini-Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3NVZCQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to handle a narrow area that needed to be watered, and that unit performed phenomenally, so I expected similar results from this sprinkler - only covering a larger area. However, this unit demonstrated very poor performance compared to its smaller cousin!  The issue may be in my lines, but other sprinklers are proving far better

 I have a solid 65 PSI on the line, but due to distance from my tap, the flow rate isn't very good - which may explain this unit's issue. I have switched to impact sprinklers for the remaining areas, and they seem to do a far better job of reach, but need to run longer in order to properly saturate the area inside the circle of coverage.  This unit is solidly built, and the adjustments are pretty good, but it is plastic, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up to a lot of service in the sun. Because this unit won't cover the area I need, I am planning to return the unit for a refund, and go with an impact unit

Nice Look and Feel  -  Not So Nice Performance For My Use

This sprinkler is awesome… kind of. It really does have three different ways to change the direction and size and width of the water to hit exactly where you want it to. However, it does not cover as large of an area as it says. Maybe it was my hose? Or my water pressure (not ever been an issue before)? But, this little guy, works, I just have to move it around a lot more than I thought

Not all that impressed. I spent too much time adjusting it to water my yard. So I ended up using my hand held sprayer to water the front yard. It may work better for my back yard which it much larger
