   In April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska on the Juneau ice fields for a Glaciology school project.  This mitten is insulated with primal off. It's a lightweight synthetic insulation and there's a real thick layer of it in there so it's just gonna be super toasty warm. This is for somebody who has really cold hands if you're skiing or you just live in a place where it is bitter cold all winter long and you need something really super duper just to drive the car around. You've got a lightweight nylon shell on the back of the hand and you've got a leather palm here across here for durability with a little bit of flexibility here through the palm so it is good at grasping something

 My husband owns the same style in mens, and I am much more inclined to order that style for myself. On the plus side they do seem very warm and plush.

Following the sizing chart, I purchased a small based on my measurements. I was disappointed to find that the mittens were far too small, primarily in the thumb. But also butting up at the tip of my fingers. I teach nature preschool in northern MN, and typically were thin gloves under my mittens

Not true to size, runs small

I bought these to wear at my outdoor winter wedding and snowshoeing weekend, unfortunately they were so bulky around the wrist, I felt uncomfortable at all times. The warmth factor was a plus, I just didn't like the puffiness of the wrist which didn't allow it to go over my jacket sleeve and it was too puffy to go under..

Ok but a little pricey

 The mitten is so small she could barely get her hand in, and the elastic squeezes the wrist so tight she thinks her hand would fall asleep. I can barely get my hands in and we don't have big hands. I guess I'll send it back and try a mens extra large.
