Recently got a Wahl Legend v9000. I think they're even a bit cheaper (~100€), but immediately feels like a totally different class of clippers compared to the cheap consumer products. I have a 10.8v (12v) Makita set and it wasn't expensive: it's one of the best and most-used purchases I've ever made. I don't do massive amounts of DIY, but there are so many small tasks that are so much easier for having them.

You have a Makita and Milwaukee battery tool, both are good but it’s convenient to have all yours tools in one system, that way you’re not fooling with multiple chargers and batteries. Comfortable boots are something you need to find, you’ll be on your feet constantly. That will help when working longer hours, you’ll appreciate it for sure. Pay attention and absorb as much knowledge as you can!

It fills a similar niche to Milwaukee's M12 and the 12V lines from Bosch, Makita, and Hercules. For whatever reason, everyone uses the max voltage nomenclature as opposed to the actual working voltage (10.8V). Anyway, these are even more compact, but less powerful, and also come in brushed (nay) and brushless (yea). These are best for minor use where power isn't necessary but having something compact is beneficial, and this is true for all brands.

I've had really good luck with makita, Dewalt, and porter cable lithium knock off batteries from Amazon. If anyone has ever been leary, get the ones with the best reviews of course. Get higher amp/h at 1/4 of the price.
