If you need to clear large areas of vegetation, then the Husqvarna 115iL is a great option to consider. This string trimmer had one of the longest runtimes of all the products we have tested to date, cutting weeds and plants long after other models needed to stop and recharge. The Husqvarna 115iL also offers a slow and fast mode to provide you with an awesome amount of control, whether cutting around delicate objects or clearing wide swathes of grass. It isn't particularly loud and supplies a decent amount of power when cutting through tougher plants with thicker stems. 
On the downside, the Husqvarna can be a bit more cumbersome to use than some of the other products. It has a shorter neck that forced our testers to stand closer to the cutting head than they would have liked. It can also be a pain to hold vertically. The guard is on the smaller side, which is nice when making precise cuts since it doesn't obstruct your view, but it's far less effective at stopping flying debris than other products. Despite these flaws, it's hard to beat the Husqvarna if you have tons of weeds and plants to clear and don't want to buy extra batteries to get the job done.

 I weed-eated my 2-3 acre today it took me 1-2 as long as usual my little corded electric one worked fine, but now I don't have to drag 200 feet of cord through the trees and rocks and this one cuts the tall rough grass that my corded one wouldn't go through it turns on every single time, immediately. With just a touch worked perfectly and it's fairly light and quiet all I can say about not having to use my at dollar sign percent gas weed eater anymore is that with this one I did not utter one single cuss word, not one, the entire time I love it. I'm crazy in love with this trimmer I'm a petite 5 tall senior so the gas trimmers are out of the question for me I have 3 acres of gardens and edges lots of trimming this trimmer has made my gardening life a joy thanks Husqvarna for this amazing product. I have always had 2 stroke gas still weed eaters but had become tired of the mixing and maintenance and pollution and noise they are great machines but it was time for a change like others I waited for a few product reviews before deciding to switch to battery power the battery charged quickly out of the box I just tackled half an acre that had not been touched in over a month this machine on high cut through it all like butter I only used one bar in 45 minutes the energy saver mode is great for average grass it does have some weight to it but no worse than a gas powered version it is also well balanced and the telescoping shaft is extremely convenient since I am 6 feet tall if I have to be extremely critical the only negative is you can't just hose it off when done downside of battery power but by no means a deal breaker be the change you want to see in the world and minimize your carbon footprint by giving up these gas powered machines

Husqvarna Battery Straight Shaft String Trimmer 115iL review

 Fast forward 4 months. The trimmer shuts off and the warning indicator light starts flashing. Per the manual, it could that the trimmer head is damaged (it's not), or it's overheated and I should allow it to cool down. I thought it might be the second one the first time it happened last week, but this week I started it and only got a few minutes before it shut down and the light started flashing

Loved it.....until last week.

 Today I'm going to talk about a gift that I got about two years ago. About two years ago. This is an electric string trimmer. It's the Husqvarna 115IL

 But any of those types of string trimmers, the trimmer heads on those things are so frustrating to get working. This guy is a lot easier. If you don't know what I'm doing, it's hard to tell because it's down there, but I'm just. I'm not going to drag you guys along for this one, at least for changing the strings, but I will make a couple of comments about the performance of the Husqvarna 115 IL

 It does the job, it's okay. It's just the carburetor is poorly tuned and I've tried to tune it and a lot of these newer carburetors, they don't even let you tune them. So over time they just get gunked up. There's nothing you can do about it except buy a new carburetor which costs about as much as buying a new trimmer

 And here's the weird thing, as long as you keep your finger on that trigger and you just don't let up on on the motor, it will continue to run and run and run until the battery is dead. If you let up on it and then press it again as you walk to the next spot that you need to trim up, maybe it'll start back up again, maybe not. I don't know if that's a flaw with these string trimmers. I don't know if that's by design

Husqvarna 115iL String Trimmer Review | Is It The Right Trimmer For You?

 Tried to charge the BLi20 battery on 7/3/2020, battery won’t charge. Yes, I tried the identical charger from my Husq chainsaw, and the battery charger for this unit, both charged the identical chainsaw battery so the charger or my ability to connect it or wait for a deep charge are not the issue. It’s the battery. I’ve been 40 mins on telephone hold with Husqvarna customer service, also sent a text through customer service, no assistance yet

Used 4 times, now battery won’t charge

Not liking have to do this as it’s all plastic and could and will break. That’s the reason for the three stars.Don’t hold the 19 feet of string as they say ( using right size string). 12-15 feet works well

unit failed after 15 min of use. battery was fully charged. went to use it and power button no longer powers unit on. power when working was great

 actually stronger than my husqv gas trimmer. i have asked for a replacement in the hopes i just got a lemon. will update review when it has been replaced.  update 8/24

 Out of the four I have two batteries that work, and one is a replacement from husqvarna (after a very long hassle) so I now have 3 husqvarna batteries that are dead. The replacement is now $309.00. Yes that is correct! Compare that with the going price of a new one at about $350

 Battery life is long. Aside from the weight, its pretty comfortable to hold and use. Pretty happy with this purchase.
