  If the scrolling function worked correctly all the time this would be a four star mouse. But the way that it can ignore the scroll wheel if the mouse isn't active is very, very, very annoying. Did I say "very" enough times to get my point across? Otherwise this is a mouse I use sometimes and other times I just can't put up with its quirks and go back to my Apple mouse. Hey, Logitech -- please fix it and make the Gesture Button useful for those of us with a mutant length thumb

I bumped this up to 3 stars from 2 stars for a couple of reasons. I think the scrolling issue may be battery related. If the battery is getting low then the scrolling action can get less responsive. Also, Logitech has updated their Mac software

 (As soon as I got the mouse I just sat around scrolling the wheel for half an hour before even setting it up) The ratcheting isn’t as tactile as a normal ratcheting wheel but that should be expected since it’s all controlled by magnets. The horizontal scroll wheel is nice but I didn’t expect it to feel as heavy as it does. It doesn’t spin freely but I think that’s a good thing because I would just be flying sideways any time I accidentally touched it. The buttons on the side have a “bump” in them but they’re dampened so you get the feedback of clicking but it’s not as pronounced as the actual mouse buttons

Full review below but just some quick pros and cons:  Pros: Super ergonomic and comfortable design The scroll wheels and buttons feel amazing The gesture button is genius and super intuitive High quality construction just makes it really nice to use YOU CAN USE IT WHILE ITS CHARGING COMEON APPLE ITS NOT THAT HARD  Cons: LogiOptions almost ruins the entire experience  This mouse is amazing, it feels great, tracks on almost anything, and the amount of customization is awesome. The SmartShift feature is awesome, I love ratcheting scroll wheels but they’re a pain if you need to get through a long document or webpage. (As soon as I got the mouse I just sat around scrolling the wheel for half an hour before even setting it up) The ratcheting isn’t as tactile as a normal ratcheting wheel but that should be expected since it’s all controlled by magnets. About 99% of the way to perfection

  I still think it would benefit from being just slightly smaller. It's hard to reach the vertical scroll wheel, and when you're in a web browser with tabs, it makes your tabs swap which is nice but the layout makes it not a great experience.  Where this mouse shines is the ability to assign custom actions by app. For example, in Microsoft Teams I was able to make the scroll wheel mute and unmute with a click

 I had to turn off the setting to auto detect if it should scroll fast or not because it was insane (and it won't fast scroll up, only down). The left-right scroll feature is also wonky, and the left-right scroll wheel is too high up on the mouse. The back/forward web buttons would make far more sense there.  Also the "gestures" which aren't really gestures at all work 1 out of 5 times

  Where this mouse shines is the ability to assign custom actions by app. For example, in Microsoft Teams I was able to make the scroll wheel mute and unmute with a click. I remapped buttons to copy and paste in Word. It's a power mouse and its few short comings while issues, can be forgiven for the gains it brings

Updated:  Returning after 20 minutes of use (Now keeping)

 That said, what I've found is that it is a HUGE battery drain. I can definitely say that after a day of using the MagSpeed feature in which one "spins" the wheel freely, you will start to see the on-screen warning that the mouse is running low on charge either at the end of said day or pretty early on the next day. You'll get only two days charge AT THE MOST. Still not a deal killer because Logitech allows charging while usage

Less is Less: You Might Want to Skip The "For Mac" Version

You have to flip it over to switch devices

  Well, this standard feature started to fail and the wheel would go in and out of the 'notched scroll' mode. Quite annoying and disappointing for a product at this price level.  UPDATE: I contacted Logitech customer support and after a few questions they shipped me a replacement free of charge. Turnaround time was about a week

HARDWARE FAILURE but GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT: scroll wheel failed after only 4 months.
