I am not comfortable shouldering that risk *and* paying extra for something that should've lasted many more years. 

 My whole household had them. My mother has a neck injury, so making her queen sized bed was part of my regular chores growing up, and each of our sheet sets were easily 10+ years old, in great condition, and buttery soft.

L.L. Bean percale cotton sheets, you've let me down. You were supposed to be the best, now what do I buy?

 I figured that by rotating the sets of sheets I wouldn't be wearing down the elastic so quickly. However, I just pulled the sheet out of the linen closet and the elastic wasn't only worn out, it crackles and was useless for an elastic band. It's garbage now and I'm left with trying to locate a nice single fitted sheet to match the still-in-good-shape flat sheet and pillow cases. If these guys sold the sheets individually it might not be so bad but I refuse to purchase another entire set just for the bottom sheet

 I have been spending too much money over the years in buying sheets that matched my other bedding (most recently: Calvin Klein), instead of ones that were of better-quality. While the other sheets look great and have held up well over the years, they were not the crisp percale cotton that I love in high-end hotels but couldn't find in the bedding sets I have been purchasing. I recently changed out my bedding and decided to purchase plain white sheets that still matched the white background of my (Pottery Barn) duvet cover and shams. After reading the reviews here and searching for comparable sheets on other sites, I sprung for these in a Cal-King White

Absolutely PERFECT Pima Percale Cotton Sheets UPDATED REVIEW

I’m very happy with my LL Bean cotton percale sheets, they have a slightly rougher, crisper texture to them depending on if you like them. They’re Wirecutter’s top recommended sheets.

I tried linen sheets, spending way too much on two sets that wore out faster than any of my cotton sheets. So I'm back in the market for a set of comfortable sheets that will last a few years. 

I know that polyester sheets will last for ages, but I find them uncomfortable. 

What sheets have you found that are comfortable and good value for your money?

Request: natural fiber bed sheets

 I ordered the king set in latte. And they WERE perfect, right outta the box. Both my husband and I get hot even in winter, so prefer cotton bedding vs synthetics and blends. I was so excited to try these, that I put them on the bed right outta the box (came very nicely packaged)

 A lot. The en-smallened bottom sheet still fits my mattress, as the set came out of the package sized to easily accommodate deeper mattresses and/or toppers and I have neither of these -- but folks who do have them, may be disappointed after laundering.  I'm a reasonable person and a small bit of shrinkage and wrinkles is something I can live with, but c'mon - for the price I just plain expect better, especially when I still have cheaper sheets I bought years ago from discount stores that never had these issues. And I have neither time nor inclination to iron my bedding, even if wrinkles were the only problem

I am a stickler about sheets. These had fairly decent reviews so I bought a queen and a king set. I wish I’d only purchased one set. They are not what I classify as soft but more crisp which is okay

 I was ironing the pillow cases today and my husband said I didn’t need to iron anything for him but I swear when you lay your head on the pillow the wrinkles are so bad it’s hard to get to the pillow! The sheets don’t shrink and are an ample size for the mattress which many are not. Hope this gives you more info to make a good decision!

Queen Sheets

$100 Set of Sheets. Definitely a luxury purchase. I have always been able to sleep well so I did not need an "aid" of any sort. BUT

Its probably less than a minute but those first 15 seconds after getting between the sheets, for me, is one of the simple pleasures in life. You take that first breath and a big sigh. Its time for the world to go away

I Wanted Percale. I Wanted Quality.  I Got What I Paid For.

 After receiving them, I washed them twice and put them on the mattress. No problem, very comfortable and I know they'll only get softer with time. I did use two sheet suspenders width-wise so the sheets wouldn't ride up. But the corners stayed put

I'm not a fan of sateen weave so I was looking for a nice cotton percale set of sheets for our Tempur-Pedic King 12" mattress. I didn't want extremely deep corners and these were only 15" which I thought would be fine. After receiving them, I washed them twice and put them on the mattress. No problem, very comfortable and I know they'll only get softer with time

 But if you fold them quickly out of the dryer it's not that bad and they feel great to sleep on. As for size, I didn't notice any poor sizing at all. They fit just fine with not too much nor too little material. Really comfortable sheets to sleep on

Ordered one set, then two more

. I got the Ivory color which has a yellow tone so they are like a very soft yellow, which is a plus to me. I will say, as mentioned in other reviews, for the 415 thread count, they are thinner than expected, most percale sheets are typically thinner but I did think they would be heavier because of the thread count. The sewing detail and styling is very simple, I'm thinking probably due to how things are done in Peru

Great percale sheets...

I've had these about two months, washed every week, and I'm still not quite satisfied. Perhaps my problem is the difference between percale and sateen. Several people here have explained the difference, so check those out of you're unfamiliar. I had a somewhat pricey set of sateen that I used for nine years! I loved them and wouldn't give them up, until they did start looking a bit ragged

 They're not quite wide enough, so they have to be pulled and retucked almost like the old sheets. And my main gripe - they're SO SCRATCHY! As I said, I haven't slept on percale since I was a child, but these also say "pima" cotton, which is all I buy for tee-shirts, and Pima is SOFT! These are not. I'm not sure why I keep using them. Maybe they'll soften in time? If they don't, I'll give them up

 I will try to revisit in a year.  Borderline fit aside, we will be buying another set soon.  Note to manufacturer: I would make your sheets larger to at least accommodate mattresses up to 14-16“

  1. These sheets are at the limit of fit for mattresses, like ours, that are 12 inches. You can see from the photo that a portion of the mattress peeks out from the fitted bottom sheet, but it's really not an issue one we get our comforter. I'd say that a 12" mattress is getting close to the limit for the top sheet as well as there was *just enough * extra to tuck under the mattress
