The Lepow Z1 Gamut is the best portable monitor for laptop use for content creators. It's an okay overall monitor, and what makes it stand out versus other portable monitors is its color gamut. It has perfect coverage of the sRGB color space used in most web content and decent coverage of the Adobe color space used in photo editing. However, the coverage is still limiting if you're a professional photo editor, so it's better to get a proper monitor for the most accurate colors.

You can connect the monitor to your PC or your main monitor using the Mini HDMI connection or one of the two USB-C inputs. One of the USB-C inputs supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, allowing you to display an image from a compatible source and charge the device at the same time. However, the power output of this monitor is only 5W which isn't enough to charge a laptop. The gradient handling is fantastic with minimal banding as it supports a 10-bit signal.

Unfortunately, despite the fantastic color gamut, the out-of-the-box accuracy is disappointing, so you'll need to calibrate it to use it to its full capabilities. It also doesn't get bright enough to fight glare in well-lit rooms, but it at least has great reflection handling. For a portable monitor, it's a good choice for content creators.

a large affordable portable monitor with some suggestionsfor improvements

 But, after looking at some color accuracy test screens, and generally comparing it with my (admittedly, much more expensive) Dell monitor, I just wasn't impressed with what it produced. Especially some of the reds and greens shades were not very well represented. The contrast and response time were also pretty underwhelming, but I didn't attempt specific measurements of those. I can only image they are as exaggerated as the color accuracy claims

A somewhat overstated and mediocre 1080p panel with quality control/power issues

 This monitor is as lightweight as competition and feels well built. The colors are rich and vibrant and the display offers a multitude of adjustment parameters including brightness contrast as well as various presets. I really like the designed of it. This work well with my Macbook and everything is just plug and play

 They really seemed concerned about the fact that the unit I purchased no longer functioned and seemed very committed to making it right. Maybe I just ended up with a bad unit by luck of the draw, but strong customer support and dedication to making the customer happy goes a long way in my book!

 So now it's completely useless, and I hope I will be able to return or exchange it for one that actually works more than once. Very disappointed!!  UPDATE: After posting this review and expressing my disappointment in this product, I was contacted by Lepow customer service, and told I would be refunded full cost no questions asked. They really seemed concerned about the fact that the unit I purchased no longer functioned and seemed very committed to making it right. Maybe I just ended up with a bad unit by luck of the draw, but strong customer support and dedication to making the customer happy goes a long way in my book!

Great functionality, but dark

I bought this monitor because I was looking for something smaller and maybe something I can take with me if I wanted to go "portable." I was looking between this model and the Lepow C25 with the kickstand. I was debating on the two because I liked that this one had a cover included, but I liked the C25 because it had a kick stand. I ultimately decided on this one for the cover that came with it
