A nice trail bike like a Process 134, and a sweet hardtail to go with it. There’s no way I’m blowing all than money on a single bike, you just don’t get much for your money once you pass the ~$6k mark.

In opinion if you can afford it that's where I'd start for fun and comfort and general trail riding. Just get a trail bike like the process 134 or the fuel ex for example. Full suspension is going to be easier on your back and more fun through tech and chatter and it'll be easier to stay in control going faster. You'll be able to do more descending before fatigue sets in.

I recommend the Kona process 134/153

With their oversized linkage and bearings, they might not be the lightest but they are fun af and strong like a tank

Also the geo isn’t super slack so it’s great for people who don’t like super slack bikes

They are a website that will do very in depth reviews and will also compare bikes. FWIW I was deciding on a bike too this past summer and here are some things I was going over while shopping. Due to availability I went with the Kona Process 134 trail bike. It scored a 9/10 on downhill, a 9/10 fun factor and a 7/10 on uphill.

kona process 134 is interesting as well feels really great and i have the older frame version (2016). the 29" 134 seems to be super capable !

Next bike was a Kona Process 134. I got a great deal on a demo, and put some money into upgrading it. The Kona was waaay more fun on all my local trails. It’s an extremely poppy and surprisingly stable bike.

I have a 2018 Kona Process 134 se I got for about 2400 and it's been great for my riding. It has slack head angle making it flow really well downhill but also a great pedaller since you can lock out the suspension.

it's a great bike, did not went for it because it was not available in portugal, where I live, so I went for a Kona Process 134, it's a great option, and in my opinion better for descending than the trance, so I would prioritize that over the trance, also, beware of buying exclusively online, since bike shop support is very usefull.Good luck!!!
