I wished there were a 3rd button also that I could assign to “Enter.” Other functions may be more desirable by others, but I have always liked Elecom mice mostly because of the number of buttons on them allows me to use their mice as efficient editing tools. The severe and fatal failing of the Kensington Expert & SlimBlade is that they have such a paucity of buttons, as if they were stuck in the 20th century. The best use case of trackball mice is in editing of videos, music, documents, CAD programs, etc.

On the Slimblade i have the lower left button unbound cause that is where i rest my hand. But i only need 2 buttons of the trackball so that is fine. The buttons of the gameball are positioned well and have a good click. Materials are also very nice.

At home I've been using the Logitech M570 until the dreaded sticky left click issue occured recently. So I've been on a look-out for a new one. Did a bit of reading and settled on either the Kensington Slimblade or the Elecom Deft Pro/Huge.

CONS:. Kensington Slimblade trackball had more "stiction" than Kensington Expert Wired trackball. The 55mm trackball of the Kensington Slimblade trackball did not roll or glide as easily as the Kensington Expert Wired trackball.

I've been using a Kensington Slimblade for a couple years now and I'm ready for something a bit different. While I've enjoyed the trackball immensely, there are a few issues I'm starting to run into with it:. * The new trackball works program is almost unusable for me -- the changes I made to the configurations never stick and the program is way more confusing than it was before. * Because of the way the buttons are positioned on the device, I find myself using my thumb way more than I'd like to.

In the case of the slim blade, I found a used working unit without a ball on Offerup, and bought a broken unit with a ball off eBay and combined the two into one working ball, for less than $40.00. But anyway... Out of the pile of trackballs, the only ones that I immediately loved an didn't need to get used to were the Microsoft Trackball Explorer and Elecom Deft Pro. But I have peripheral ADD. I constantly want to switch up my keyboards and trackballs.

I have a strange problem with my Kensington SlimBlade trackball when connected through a KVM, but just one specific KVM. I have a couple of Aten KVMs, 2-port CS682-AT, 2-port CS22U-AT and 4-port CS84U KVM. When connected directly, or to either of the former two, there's no problem.
