I’d say you need a compressor and at least one good overdrive. My suggestions would be a Keeley Compressor + and a good Klone like a Mythos Mjolnir or a JRAD Archer Ikon.

Looking for a Compressor Suggestion

As some others have said, being able to blend in the clean single is a great feature, and the tone knob lets you reintroduce any high-end "sparkle" you might lose with another compressor. To my ears, it's not particularly noisy, even with single coils, unless I dime everything. Oh, and the compressor stacks great with everything from the OD side to a muff. I've also owned an MXR Custom Comp which sounded pretty transparent and was very simple if you wanted something less complicated: two knobs, good sound, great price.
