Kanto YU2

Kanto YU2 or YU4 come in different colours and are fine for nearfield desk setups. The YU4 also come in a passive version if you want to use a separate amp or use them for/with surrounds some day.

Got this and a cheaper pair that looks the same for $200 less. Sound almost exactly the same. Save your money

Although, I’m considering a pair of Kanto YU2. I mainly use it as a monitor for photo / video editing, office work while WFH and Netflix & YouTube in the evenings. Cinema is the best profile all around in my opinion followed by Clear Voice and AI Sound Pro. Cinema has a nice level of clarity and bass.

Kanto YU2 and YU4 are worth checking out and are in your price range. The AudioEngine A2 are a really good sounding speaker. They are old relative to some of these newer options but in my opinion they deliver especially if you feed them from a quality DAC like the Modi. Paired with the S8 sub you’d have a rocking setup.
