Kamado Joe Classic Joe

This is gonna be good. So this concludes my first weekend with the Kamado Joe Classic 3. I'm super excited about this purchase

Ordered a Kamado Joe classic I a few weeks ago when it was $450 as a Christmas gift for my dad. He has always wanted to smoke a brisket for Christmas so I Saved up a while and it was the perfect price for me to be able to afford. I ordered it and after a delivery date of 12/7 came and went, I got nervous. Called Walmart and they essentially said there was a glitch in the system and my order is lost and has been cancelled and I can re-order it at the new price, which is now $799 and way out of my price range.

Overall product is excellent and works as advertised. The 3 rating is based on having to wait 2 weeks for a scheduled delivery which did not happen. Smoke ring is literally nothing. It’s a reaction. It offers zero indication to smoke flavor. My recteq always gives smoke rings but the smoke flavor is nowhere near my kamado joe or Weber Smokey mountain.

I’ve been planning a grill upgrade for a while now and decided on a ceramic/BGE style grill. I found the Kamado Joe Classic Joe 18” with stand for $399 shipped. Right now I use a 21” Weber kettle grill and it works great. I’d like to upgrade to something that can be used as a smoker, hold temp better/longer, and will last a while.

I love my Big Green Egg - excellent build quality and amazing customer service - but Kamado Joe has really upped their game these last few years. You really can't go wrong with either.
