I also want one with Wifi. I'm a tech guy, and if I'm doing this, I'm doing it with technology!. So far, the GMG Trek (and Davy Crockett) seems to be the only one that fits my criteria. It's $350 or so, small, has WIFI, and pretty good reviews.

Ruined smoke, ruined expensive brisket, just wanted to vent

Biggest issue I have with mine. I have a nice GMG that I can't trust for long smokes, and a stick burner that I can because it's me putting in the work. There is something rewarding about that for me, but it's frustrating as hell.

Works great!

My only complaint is that it isn't very easy to extend or fold the legs given the weight of the grill, nor is it easy to move with the legs extended. You basically have to find a good hand-hold and muscle it around. Easy to set up and connect to phone and cooks very well!

Anybody have any thoughts on vertical pellet smokers? I really don’t have it in me to stay up all night with my Smokey mountain anymore. Pellet smoker seems like the best alternative or am I missing something? Any models that are better than others?

I’ve had a few pellet rigs, so far my fave is the GMG. Pellets a great way to smoke but it is true the bark and penetration is not the same as an HO for instance but I wouldn’t call it disappointed by any stretch.

Purchased to replace grill and a different smoker. So far I have smoked a pork butt, ham and short ribs. Everything turned out delicious. Next step brisket. A little bit of a pain to keep clean but worth the effort.

Bought a used GMG from a friend that has no Wi-Fi. Had to replace the igniter because of the transport but no issues since. It’s a smoker, figured I don’t need Wi-Fi to make good bbq

WiFi don’t work

Nice little smoker just wish the WiFi worked out of the box rather then needing a darn up date to software before it can be used. Shouldn’t a new piece of equipment come preset with working software. Just saying.

Love the smoker... but the Wifi is a PITA to get working, and it still doesn't work. My setup is not even that far away from my router, if I were any closer, the smoker would be in my house

Works excellent, the Bluetooth/App is suspect

Convenient, works well, but miss my full size smoker.

Also connecting to Bluetooth is difficult and APP needs improvement.
