Juiced CrossCurrent X

Honestly, If you can afford a car, but don't want one, and the bike is your primary transportation, I'd raise the budget. You can spend $2,500 and get something like a Juiced CrossCurrent X that could get you that distance. That said, you're going to be changing chains and cassettes a lot with the mileage you're doing.

I was able to sell my car, and commuted \~18 miles year-round (Mountain west) for 2 years before work from home, riding on a Juiced CCX. Still have wife's car, but covers almost all my personal needs. Very little maintenance, charged free at work every couple days, and, most importantly, ebikes remove the impediments/excuses to not ride.

I ride a Juiced CrossCurrent X. I highly recommend it. It's been amazingly reliable.

It’s on the lower end of your budget, probably, at $1000, but it is an excellent bike for hills and is one that you should, and will want, to pedal a lot. There are some excellent mid drive options that cost more, if you want to go that route too. If I were to buy another bike, I might consider the Juiced Crosscurrent.

I have a juiced crosscurrent s2, love the bike but it's too big for my apartment. Currently looking at ariel riders M-class.

Juiced Crosscurrent X has a large removable battery that should cover 32 miles (even on full throttle) if you don’t want to charge at work. It’s a heavy bike though and a little over 2k.

Voltbike Yukon has a similar range for lower price.

On the other hand, pushing isn't an issue with lots of the bikes because they have walk modes, where you get a little power to assist walking the bike. I'm 70 years old myself and recently bought a Juiced CCX. I haven't had occasion to have to pick it up from the ground, but getting off of it at the end of the ride sometimes make me wish I'd considered a step-thru. If it's at all possible, I suggest buying from a shop where she could test ride first.

Go for the RadRover! My brother owns one and I have a Juiced CCX. Torque sensors are definitely nice, but for weekend rides with a fat-tire bike you're going to want to use the throttle when you take off from a stop and by the time you get up to speed there's hardly a difference.

I've put well over 5,000 miles on my [Juiced For me, my decision came down to the Juiced's 19.2 aH battery size. Most non-homemade ebikes will have either an undersized motor or battery, and I wouldn't change it today. Has been pretty bomb-proof riding in all seasons for a few years now, and handles even long commutes easily.

I'm 290lbs and I've had no issues even though it's rated up to 275. My commute is about 5 miles round trip with about 1.5 or 2 miles extra to get lunch everyday and I can get about 5-6 days without needing to charge with the new 52v 19.2ah battery pack even when I'm speeding in the morning to get to work. They have a sale right now where the new model is or if you want something with a bit more capacity the is rated for 300lbs and has 80nm of torque with a motor that can output 1300 watts.
