HP Omen X 27 Review
If you've been standing around waiting for 240Hz display tech to break the 1080p barrier, the wait is finally over. Now we just have to see if HP's competitors do it better. The HP Omen X 27 is a desirable gaming monitor that gives 1440p gamers the sizzling 240Hz refresh rate their 1080p rivals have long enjoyed

atrocious VESA mount
Background: I've owned 2 other gaming monitors besides this one. I tried the BenQ Zowie 240hz 1080p and my last monitor was the Acer Predator XB271HU G-SYNC 144/165hz 1440p. I play Rocket League every day and I have been waiting for either this monitor or the LG Y27GQ-25. The Choice: There are only ...

Are gaming laptops as good as gaming desktops?
I was tossing between getting a desktop or laptop recently. I went with an HP Omen, mainly because with two toddlers I don't have a lot of safe space for a $1500 machine to be sitting out all the time. At least with the laptop I can put it in a cabinet they can't reach.
CRITICAL REVIEW: THE BEST GAMING PANEL OF 2019 IN THE WORST ENCLOSURE. HP DROPPED THE BALL!
Good news: Awesome clarity, colors, response time, and incredibly low input lag. In terms of gaming performance HP hit a home run with this monitor. I use a GTX 1080ti and have no problem reaching 240FPS @ 1440p on competitive graphic settings. It's not an IPS so the viewing angles aren't the greate...

Thinking about a 48” LG C1
Maybe 4-5ms on a TN panel like the HP Omen X 27. Maybe. And 240Hz requires the pixel response to be lower than 4.2ms to avoid producing after images. The TN panel's contrast and colors, as well as the atrocious viewing angles.. while the colors are really good and very accurate considering the panel supports HDR with like 300 nits, it's an awful gaming experience for anything except fps games like Apex or Valorant where fast turning might be necessary.

AMAZING!!! Except for the mount...
240hz, check. 1440p, check. Low input lag (2.8ms @ 240hz), check. Nice picture, check. This monitor is for hardcore gamers, so keep that in mind. If you're coming from an IPS and expect that same quality, look elsewhere. That's not what this monitor is about. This monitor is designed to delivery but...

It's a nifty little powerhouse and being able to take it on the go is essential. I would invest, personally!
