It's more than five years old with 7,300+ impressions, yet I still find it to be extremely reliable. HP's OfficeJet Pro 90xx machines are worth looking at. These are cartridge-based, but they do have better running costs than most and they're very reliable. I've been using a predecessor model (Officejet Pro 8630) for more than five years and 8,000 pages and it's still going strong.

While this assumes genuine OEM supplies, even with third-party toner, higher-end models will be cheaper to run.
