I've been using a 2 beater mixer for years and wanted to try an orbital mixer. I really wanted to like this machine since it had good reviews and features. I've also had very good experiences with other Hamilton Beach products so they've earned my trust. However I had to return this mixer because it was much harder to use than what I was used to

 So when I my make sponge cakes, it whips and sugar and the eggs perfectly. But when I need it to fold the flour in (with the paddle) there's always unmixed batter on the bottom! It's super upsetting when you only notice it when you already poured the batter into the buttered cake pan. I normally use a hand mixer so I have more control over these types of situations, but with a machine you're trusting it to mix it. I have tried remedying it by putting a napkin below the bowl to remove the gap between the bottom of the bowl and whisk, but if you're more about a machine doing its job then I don't recommend this to any serious baker

 Like I said if it lasts 2 years of my leaning curve (can't get warranty as bought "used like new"), I will be happy and graduate to another level of stand mixers.  I just received it today and havent tried it yet. Bought a used like new where they said packaging would be damaged and paid 71 dollars including tax. The box looked as it was repackaged after opening previously and the white plastic cover was torn

 Everything needed in the way of power and ease of use. OK, I won't be able to make sausage but they say one is better off not seeing that, anyway. Will it last as long as Mom's Kenmore? Don't know about that but I surely won't.

 Did the flour, oil and eggs slowly with the paddle just to combine then was able to add the copious wet ingredients in a few stages on "4" simply by stopping the motor, lifting the head, pouring and re-starting each time with no hassle. Never had to use the spatula I had at the ready to push the mixture down the sides of the bowl.  Same, same for the frosting: 24 ozs of softened cream cheese and butter with a full pound of icing sugar all in one go.  This is a fine piece of equipment

100 Bucks buys a very capable machine but only for a short time

 The above two points make me believe that this unit will not last as long as mixers made from metal. It is simply less wear and tear if the body of the mixer doesn't flex.  Like many others, I bought this because I did not want to pay $$$ for the Kitchenaid units but this mixer didn't do a great job mixing dough in the end, defeating the purpose of buying it. After trying a $160 Cuisinart mixer with full metal construction, I will be returning this unit as the $60 difference not only buys reliability but also a more powerful motor (500W)

 Not saying that plastic construction automatically means bad mixer. However, a poor design + plastic construction makes this a poor mixer. - Loud. The unit is fairly loud and if you're using it for extended periods it may not be the best choice

 I was kneading bread dough with this mixer and whenever the dough hook applied any force, the entire head and body of the unit flexed. As an engineer, this bothered me greatly as energy is being wasted on bending the body and because of the weak construction, maximum force cannot be exerted on the dough.  Thanks This is my second UPDATE. Now that I have had time to get used to this mixer, I am glad I got it. I have become more familiar with how to operate it and what attachments to use. It took me some time getting used to it

 UPDATE; Since having this mixer for a longer time, I am getting a little better using it. I would like to leave a message for manufacturers, I did a lot of research and would like it if when they make videos that instead of playing music that they would let you hear how loud the machine is. I live in an apartment and the walls are thin, I care about others in the building being disturbed by loud appliances. You see I am a night owl and don't feel free to operate noisy products after eight pm
